Brainstorming-wise,

and regarding art and virtual worlds, am quite interested in virtual Lego Robotics in a realistic virtual environment, perhaps beginning just with virtual Lego Blocks or Bricks (re even Brick Street View, which was developed by a Swedish coder back around 2013, but is no longer active I think), and for e.g. -

favorite Piobaireachd?

Dear Stuart,

Thanks so much!

I think I would give the thumb up to the first 2 or 3 tunes if I were a machine learning algorithm - which is perhaps what my experience of most beautiful, most lyrical, most melodious Piobaireachd music is ... maybe I am a machine learning algorithm :) ... and may seek to listen to all 200-300 older or 'classic' Piobaireachd :)

Here's my "Honey Piobaireachd" SSP album tune list presently, albeit may be seeking some more most beautiful, most lyrical, most melodious Piobaireachd to my ear before I create this album:

The Desperate Battle of the Birds
John Burgess

Beloved Scotland, I Leave Thee Gloomy·

Lament for the Old Sword
Stuart Liddell
(thanks to someone for opening up the complete recording!)

Old Woman's Lullaby Pibroch Piobaireachd Ceòl Mór
Donald MacLeod

Corrienessan's Salute
Andrew Bonar 2010

The MacFarlanes' Gathering
Willie McCallum

Lament for Alasdair Dearg MacDonnell of Glengarry (Piobaireachd) - CoP V.4 Yellow Tutor
Major Gavin Stoddart Recital 2006: 4 of 4
"Lament for Alasdair Dearg MacDonnell of Glengarry"

Sir James MacDonald of the Isles (crunluath breabach)
Donald MacLeod

The Little Spree  (crunluath fosgailte)
Brent Tidswell

MacKintosh's Banner - CoP V.4 Yellow Tutor
excellent recording?

Glengarry's Lament - CoP V.4 Yellow Tutor
Claus Reiss
(A great ever so musical rock it out of the park recording of this? - by you Stuart perhaps?:)

The Company's Lament - CoP V.4 Yellow Tutor
Gary West
(A great ever so musical rock it out of the park recording of this? - by you Stuart perhaps?:)

Now how newly to make these last Piobaireachd SING musically such that listeners, both new listeners, and people who know Piobaireachd well, would be deeply touched somehow emotionally? Might we explore further possibly please this connecting potential in another lesson in the New Year, and perhaps in focusing on a single Piobaireachd? Thank you, Stuart!

Season's Greetings, and Happy Hogmanay, so, A Happy New Year to you when it comes!
! :)

Dear Stuart, All, I just shared the following with you, and wonder also especially what your very favorite Piobaireachd are, Stuart, - and importantly, what all of your favorite Piobaireachd are ... your very very most favorite Piobaireachd tunes in the whole wide world, that is - I mean, the ones you might or do return to again and again, when in the mood even, and to soar or fly or come home in a sense (would you consider asking our friends this question as well, possibly please:) :)? I might even explore renaming my upcoming Scottish Small Pipes' album - with the B flat mix SSP chanter - something like Fav Piobaireachd Ever Bestests :)
(first Scottish Small Pipes' album was of Light Music, - on the A mixolydian SSP chanter - Ceol Beag) but heading to Mor now ... with playing Ceol Mor, or Piobaireachd, Big Music, on the Small Pipe ... :)

Thanks so much!

Beloved Scotland

Nothing is known with any certainty about the historical background or date of composition of this lovely tune. In his notes to David Glen’s Ancient Piobaireachd, the notes state “Beloved Scotland, thee I am leaving” ... This fine Pibroch is said to have been the favourite March of Sir Donald MacDonald of Slate (sic) when marching to the Battle of Sheriffmuir (1715).”

There's a picture of you, Stuart, next to this interesting excerpt of a text about the Piobaireachd Society's Book 16, by Peter McCalister, and his favorite tune in it ...

"Most of the tunes are of average length and difficulty, but there are a small number of very challenging pieces amongst which is another nameless tune (Hiotro traen) from John MacDougall Gillies’ manuscript. This tune – on page 580 – would be my personal favourite from the whole book. Here is the urlar:

The most difficult tune ... "
