Abolition ~

Hi Ma, John, Joan, Sandy, Susan, All, 

Very glad to learn that my brother, Sandy, is coming home to Pittsburgh this Christmas, for what seems like the first time in about 20 years!

One further follow up in some of these abolition movement regards, and to the Non-theist Quakers' email list ... and per a "Radical Love in the Meeting House," article in Friends' Journal, reading group getting started among some Friends affiliated with the Oxford England Quaker Meeting: 

Possible new solutions and approaches to abolition of the illegal sex industry (and its latent networks of violence, both re the profit motive), and internationally? Appreciating that the Anti-Slavery Act of Britain became law in 1833, and the Emancipation Proclamation of 1862 in the US, freed millions of people, and that even after the Civil Right's movement of the 1960s, and after the coronavirus pandemic genetic engineering revolution advances, with vaccines, and electronic medical records, of the past 19 months, that there's abolition movement work to be done, to free people, and in all ~200 countries! I don't know if a personal robot for each of all 7.9 billion people on the planet in some years can help, but I am thinking this might be part of a solution!

Am curious about how developing Robotics, Abolition and 'Radical Love' in the Meeting House might play out together among Nontheistic Quaker Meetings and NtFs for example.

In reading "Klara and the Sun," about Artificial Friends (AFs), Personal Robotics, and Robot People, by Nobel Laureate Kazuo Ishiguro (a Brilliant British author), am wondering if the opportunity to experiment with Robot Person Love in the Meeting House or something is opening (and regarding protecting innocent people myself included). If perpetrators and offenders and  purveyors in Quaker Meetings could 'fall in love' with Robot People, or an Artificial Friend (AF), and who could even machine learning-wise 'learn their owner,' as Klara, an Artificial Friend, learns Josie, her human friend, the opportunity to protect other humans, and people in Quaker Meetings, would be great 😊.

How are you? Brainstorming-wise, if Maggie were to somehow break up with her partner, and was open to moving back home to DC even, and in connecting with you, might you be open to this ... and moving in eventually to a house together in the DC area even? ... As an alternative, if you were to meet a Maggie 'protege', possibly an Emory student in playwriting, for example, and who even looked a bit like Maggie, and who was seeking a partner and gentleman - and even to begin a family - do you think you might be open to this too? Seed some of these possibilities with Maggie even possibly, and as kinds of Christmas sharing possibilities too? What do you think? Am very glad my brother, Sandy, is coming home from Maine for Xmas for the first time in what seems like 20 years (not sure why or what changed either ... Abolition-ally?). My mother just emailed that she's found a place for him to stay in a friend's dwelling nearby. :)

While I'm appreciative of your Friendly thinking for Radical Love in the Meeting House, I'm also aware that the state and even psychiatry in the medical legal system still play a role in Meeting Houses, and regarding offenders and perpetrators, for example. Having been assaulted in the SF Quaker Meeting sexually by a minor, and whistle-blown about other related issues there and in PYM as well (tragically?),  I'm aware also that in calling for abolition of the illegal sex industry internationally (and regarding their latent networks of violence too), that there may be other issues or reasons why the state and psychiatry in the medical legal system may continue to play a role in Quaker Meetings, and even internationally. Many of these questions will play out in the ongoing conversation between church and state I think, but I am appreciative that we may be 'waiting in the Light' in a non-theistic Friendly way for these issues to play out, and over decades ahead, both in the US and internationally.
