Susan,

Thanks so much for your email, and I'm looking forward to sharing a meal with you.
Women as food, men as food - interesting metaphors in this time of post coronavirus pandemic self-quarantine ...

See you soon!,
Scott

PS
Just shared this email with my mother, and good friends, David and Tym, regarding seeking a life partner, and would this mean that I would be on her menu somehow?:) ... but how could I meet, possibly an attractive MD in her 20s, who's seeking a partner in Pittsburgh this Xmas?  -

Tym is a good friend from Reed College, - and his friend Christina, below, seemed to open a quick way to connect emotionally, and we connected (but she wasn't my cup of tea:), when I met her on my birthday a few years ago in DC ... That opening the way to connect pretty immediately friendship-wise could be helpful in connecting with a life friend I might eventually marry ...

"Hi Tym,

How are you? How's your autumn winding up before Christmas? What are your travel plans for next year? What are your plans for Xmas? How are you doing?

Wishing you a very merry Christmas, and looking forward to seeing you soon, Tym! I recall meeting on December 31st a few years ago Christina Stauffer who had gone to Villanova, with you and another colleague of yours in the state department I think. Christina was attractive but not quite my cup of tea, or heading towards having a family either. But that connecting was interesting, and was a fun evening. Gives me some hope that I might meet a life partner and connect in a related way somehow, possibly in the West.

Just shared this with my mother ... Re envisioning a partner ...

Further 'asking Santa Claus' ...
Good friend as partner? While circulating over Christmas? A MD, an American? In her mid 20s .... Seeking a partner for family?

Honestly pretty, Lovisa Herold - with some Green ecology Swedish thoughts about flying (about shaming Swedes not to fly, kind of interestingly culturally) ... Published on my mother's birthday 2 years ago ... "Swedish identity in modernity, not yet 'internetity'" I would say - https://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/video191199661/WELT-Interview-Schweden-das  -Land-des-Schaemens.html Lovisa Herold ...  She speaks pretty good German and one word of English here too ... What do you think? Might she have interest in WORLD UNIV AND SCH for Sweden?

While Ehrlich hubsch (sincerely pretty) to my thinking, Bloom's off the rose possibly 2 years later, and with more time spent in Berlin?
A little older, more urban, sadder even ?

But there are good echoes for me of radiant Susan and Anke, and of somewhat feminine traditional values too (albeit Sweden), and I once had a girlfriend from very urban Goteborg, in Scotland in 2004 ... Lovisa Herold's journalism focus as a writer is also Germany, Switzerland and Austria, however ... Find and Meet someone a bit like her in the SF Bay Area, a MD, possibly Quaker, UU, someone from Belgium studying at UCSF Medicine? ... Attractive here and smart yet feminine like my Great Aunt Martha Briscoe? ... Am seeking too perhaps an innocence, cheeriness, and optimistic envisioning, not world weary

... what are you up to this weekend, Tym? And if aging reversal genetic drug therapies emerge, what are you up to long term? :)

Merry Xmas! See you on Sunday in 2 weeks, Tym!

Fondly, Scott

A Shady Side Academy graduate who went on to Dartmouth medical school, or the University of Pittsburgh's medical school (where my father taught Grand Rounds) or similar ... and with some Scottish heritage even?

Looking forward to seeing you, Susan!

Fond regards,
Scott

Dear Jim, Thanks so much for your logic again, and mentoring again.

Seeking to teach my course again in January - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/InfoTechNetworkSocGlobalUniv.html - this time in English, and in German, in full, and with undergraduates too, and may explore writing 2 little books from this course as well, - as well as get back into the field regarding my next Actual-Virtual, Physical-Digital Harbin Hot Springs' Ethnographic Project, potentially creating a 2nd Harbin ethnography from Google Street View with text in the sidebar, printed to paper and created in a new #wuAsVR book format, and possibly new computing hardware for this ... super busy, and wishing this fundraising process were a bit more straightforward, after having gotten and paid for the first WUaS tax bill for 2018, 19 and 20 (since founding WUaS in around 2006 or 2007).

I haven't heard back from Alden Briscoe about possibly becoming Chairperson of the Board of Directors - and may reach out to Harvard Professor Jukka-Pekka Onnela - and possibly regarding a number of possible Harvard collaborations (web site, Board of Directors that's effective ... & more).

Might these new technologies be of help to you ? ... And could they be of help in modeling a digital Immortal Jellyfish too?

I hope to engage Yassi further with the other paragraphs you so helpfully shared. Thanks for your thinking about how to engage some Directors and Administrators! Appreciating it!

Thanks, Scott

Abolitionally, I have a few concerns about Kerry Brenner and her orientation to polyamory (but which orientation could dovetail with the interests of some folks at Harbin potentially, but it sounds like Yassi may not be reaching out to Kerry in these regards, per her and my recent correspondence which included you - did you get these? ... but especially regarding WUaS planning to code for all 7.9 billion people, each a Wikidata Pin# on the planet, and even for Avatar Bot Electronic Medical Records, where I think abolition questions could play out too, regarding psychiatry for example. Kaiser Permanente electronic medical records makes 5 lines available for psychiatrists' notes per session re perpetrators, offenders etc. I learned from my MD friend ... and which could be relevant regarding further abolition questions in and around Harbin Hot Springs, but managed potentially by KP MDs in the area ... not sure who all MDwise could conceivably manage such abolition questions among all 7.9 billion people in 7139 known living languages, but maybe WUaS MDs, and with machine learning  ... It's quite a job for MDs to probably address these questions ...

Here's my reply to Yassi, and her reply to me below (which wasn't clear if you had received ...)

Dear Yassi, (Jim),

Thanks so much for your email. I appreciate it greatly. Since you're working in the same space with Kerry on a NSF grant, I wonder if you might possibly please either be able to forward her my emails to you both, or possibly inquire with her about what she might suggest with regards to my questions. Appreciating the networking opportunity here, even if ISSIP brokering a WUaS-NSF, or WUaS-National Academies' arrangement seems improbable at this point.

Jim is encouraging me to ask one question only, so as a follow up question of possible interest to Kerry in networking:
As a molecular biologist, Kerry, might be interested in these genetics' institutional developments that George Church just Tweeted, the first one fascinating because it seems to bring a mapping approach together with a specific AI and machine learning approach to genetics - https://twitter.com/geochurch/status/1466395250637918210?s=20 (and also https://twitter.com/geochurch/status/1467881501022994439?s=20), both of which I've blogged about here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/12/turritopsis-dohrnii-immortal-jellyfish.html. Regarding a realistic virtual earth for genetics and evolutionary biology tools, how to create a digital immortal jellyfish at the molecular level that develops with machine learning in relation to physical or actual immortal jellyfish, regarding both longevity questions, and aging reversal genetic engineering questions too?

Looking forward to this week's ISSIP educational workshop on W 12/15/21 - 'Workshop 4 (WS4): Innovations in Credentialing & Industry-Academia Collaborations'.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

I admire what you do and I am happy to keep my eyes and ears open for potential collaborators and technology scouting where I see synergies with WUaS, but unfortunately, ISSIP, as a very small fish in the sea of NSF grantees, lacks the muscle to broker relationships between NSF and ISSIP members.  Sorry! I can’t really add much more to what Jim has already said. His advice regarding partnering with a university is a great one.

Kerry is with the National Academies, and not NSF. She is working also on an NSF grant in the same space as ISSIP.

Sorry I cannot be of much more help.

Wishing you the best in your worthy venture!

Hoping ISSIP might benefit from some sort of possible brokering arrangement, if something like this could emerge, Jim!

Thanks, Scott
