Thanks for your nice email. Am inclined to head to the Rainbow Gathering near Gorham New Hampshire from Sat July 1-7. 

Am thinking I will not take out the front seat of of 4th gen 2016 Toyota Prius c at this time, although I now know how - and after calling Toyota Spitzer (& learning about insurance issues, and inferring that the 'punctured tire'? could possibly have been US international guard? trumpet player stephon owens-related and re federal US relationships with/oversight of car dealerships like this Toyota place) and talking with a mechanic's shop (who left his phone in my car, so I went back, but who told me most of the steps involved) -  since there are passenger safety air bag wiring insurance considerations, for example, and I don't want to jeopardize the factory integrity of the vehicle yet, and at this time. 

Will sleep in the back of it with the hatch open when possible, on my sleeping board, with a thermarest, and in a tent too at the Rainbow Gathering potentially ... 

Waiting for the upcoming in USA Toyota Proace Electric Camping Van with a shower / toilet and even a pop-up top too for possible standing in it, and sleeping 4(?). Maybe in 2024 it will become available in the US, but will be expensive.

Glad you’ve found someone who can show you how to remove the passenger seat of your car.  Clever.  If you decide to go to NH next weekend it seems you may want to try out your new camping mode?

... I’m hoping to go there for about a week, but haven’t firmed up anything.  Will need to find out what dates it is available.  I can let you know too, if you like, when I find out.

It’s a good thing we went to Robin Hill yesterday and not today.  It’s been raining off and on all day - and heavy at times - at least here.

Thanks for your "Robin Hill park" email just now, and thank you for protecting me, Ma, re what I wonder about as Dad's possible  psychopathic behavior toward his eldest son, me, possibly in the late 1990s and early 2000s; thanks to Sandy too if my inferences / hypotheses are correct  ... Hoping federal lawyers like Cuttyhunker Robin Appleberry in DC can help with growing an  abolition movement further with Quakers in California, in DC, Pittsburgh PA and in Massachusetts too ... as well as especially on Cuttyhunk where I learned from Robin on our departing walk to the Cuttyhunk Ferry last summer that they may have not gone to their Baldwin house for 3 summers because I inferred there was something to do with the illegal sex industry in it. It was so so so nice to see and talk with wonderful Hilly Baldwin, Robin's mom on all of our ferry ride to the mainland . . . I would be interested in learning if and going to Cuttyhunk - with you - in the latter part of August if the way opens, and infer that Sandy may be a mess or a real challenge in some of these regards too. It's possible I'll run into people I know there, although not Henry Cutter who will be in New York, but John Kidder, or even Joan, or Sarah LaBombard or ...? 

I was wondering in these days of preparation for this Rainbow journey, if I might come out to Longwood on Thursday afternoon or evening please to see you, and also do one further load of laundry (having done 3 weeks' worth a few days ago). It would be great to visit before taking off for a week plus! 

My 3rd book, and second book of poetry's title, "Winding Road Rainbow" has many poems about the Rainbow Gathering.  


I may seek to document ethnographically, or write about, this Rainbow Gathering 2023 in the process, and which is something I've done a bit in the 2008 Rainbow Gathering in Wyoming, and the 2011 Rainbow Gathering in Washington state, - always in very beautiful national forests.

Boston Globe: Innovation Beat: Can robots ease construction labor squeeze?


Suffolk Construction is best known for building iconic structures like the Millennium Tower and the Luis Vidal-designed Terminal E extension at Logan Airport. But facing increasing labor shortages and inflation challenges, the company has also turned its attention to helping build innovative startups in construction tech.

Chief executive and chair John Fish and MassRobotics executive director Tom Ryden welcomed dozens of robotics investors and entrepreneurs to the company’s Roxbury headquarters last week to talk tech over spring rolls and chicken dumplings. Suffolk Technologies, the company’s venture capital arm, has invested in more than 30 construction tech startups so far.

“We are at a point in time that, if we don’t come up with innovative ways to change the paradigm in construction, the industry will slow itself down,” Fish told attendees.

A panel of four contractors made clear that there is a significant opportunity for improving productivity in the trades. Convincing union employees that robotic systems will help without taking away jobs is a challenge, however.

“With recent technology we’ve implemented, we’ve had success being able to go to our employees and saying, this part of your job that’s the most tedious, the most cumbersome, we think we’ve found a solution for you,” Kevin Gill Jr., owner of sheet metal contractor McCusker-Gill in Hingham, said at the conference. His company is looking at using robots to mark up the layout of a site to indicate where ducts and access panels need to go, for example.

Massachusetts is already a hub for the robotics industry. Early pioneers such as Boston Dynamics and Kiva Systems, now Amazon Robotics, have been joined by many dozens of startups including Locus Robotics and RightHand Robotics. In construction, Building Machines in Hudson is making robots for casting concrete, and Reframe Systems in Somerville, founded by three former Amazon Robotics engineers, is using robots to build prefab housing.

Startups working on robots for construction historically have been overlooked by Silicon Valley investors who prefer to back software companies, noted Alice Leung, a vice president at Brick & Mortar Ventures.

“At the end of the day, we’re building stuff on site,” she said at the Suffolk gathering. “This next wave of tech for construction, a lot of it is going to be hardware and robotics, whether Silicon Valley VCs like it or not. It’s the only way we’re going to move our industry forward.”

Suffolk was not the only local player attracting a global audience to talk robotics in Boston. Earlier this month, local venture capitalist Fady Saad of Cybernetix Ventures convened several hundred investors, entrepreneurs, and analysts to talk robotics at the South Boston headquarters of nonprofit Artists for Humanity. For the site of the first “Robotics Invest” conference, Saad said he chose a venue where city teenagers learn about art and design to signify “the importance of balancing arts and science, human and machine, financial returns and societal impact.”

Attendees got to see a couple of actual robots, including a four-wheeled carrying robot dubbed Burro and Liftbot, which helps construction workers assemble scaffolding around buildings.

Mick Mountz and Pete Wurman, the cofounders of Kiva Systems, spoke about how they built their startup and sold it to Amazon in 2012 for $775 million. Mountz said Amazon first bought several of their customers, including Zappos and Diapers.com.

“We thought about changing our tag line to ‘Buy a Kiva, get bought by Amazon,’” Mountz said. “And then it happened to us and it wasn’t funny anymore.”
Robotics investors and entrepreneurs attended the first Robotics Invest conference in Boston on June 7, 2023. Robots on display included the Burro made for carrying heavy objects.

But today I learned that I think in April I had got

the Magenta plan (grandfathered in from my previous TMobile plan I've had for many many years)

that a few weeks ago I had upgraded effective June 15th and got the 
grandfathered in 
Essentials 55+ plan for $45/month 
with 3G fast unlimited bandwidth 
(and that 5G wasn't relevant to this plan, although my phone has been saying 5G since June 15 and with pretty "fast" data streaming hotspot to MacBook Air laptop until yesterday June 25th when I got a slowdown message from T-Mobile)

and today I got the 
"Go 5G Plus 55+" plan 
with theoretically 50G "fast" data bandwidth but then maybe or maybe not going to 3G unlimited.

(After talking with last time I started streaming most all of my music listening over my smartphone to lower my data use, and hope this helps).

As I understand it, after another upgrade for more "fast" internet today, effective June 24th, I will now pay $75 / month and potentially get 5G fast high speeds for most of all 30 days of the month if not all days, and from all places with T-Mobile coverage. 


Just seeking to write down what transpires, and re seeking to get 5G hot spot speeds like in SE Massachusetts for all 30 days of my billing cycle if at all possible please, (and possibly near the Rainbow Gathering near Gorham New Hampshire next week) and in that I've been grandfathered in a couple of times I think.  


I asked you what to do if with this upgrade if I didn't get 5G throughout  the 31 days of a billing cycle, and I guess I would come back in to inquire further  - but I also think you said Terra, with whom I spoke with 2 times ago says hi too, as if T-Mobile might be able to do something in its coding and databases to keep the 5G hotspot working throughout the month. 

Is all of this correct please?

So, if I'm living in California beginning September 1, and the phone's screen slit has gotten worse, I'll contact T-Mobile Customer Care over the phone regarding this warranty and a replacement. 

We also talked about increasing existing internet speeds with possibly T-Mobile engineering as well as possibly Google engineering especially at 02713, and on remote Cuttyhunk ... will see what happens later this summer.

Those first ~3 days of the month of 15 Gigabyte of data transfer or 5G really high speeds on the Magenta plan would be great to extend beyond the 40 Gigabytes (or possibly first 8 days of the month from the 15th on my plan) to most other days, due to engineering developments especially in SE Massachusetts - thank you!

Am deliberating about getting a Pixel 4a (Typically $160–$216) due to this new inability to  charge phone where I live (and in asylum in PA from CA) ... and would get 4a phone now from you if you have it ... and with a barely charged Pixel 3A even transfer my data while there in the T-Mobile store while I'm able to.

I'm also participating in a long scheduled Stanford Drug Discovery Symposium tomorrow and Tuesday - https://med.stanford.edu/cvi/events/2023-drug-discovery-conference.html - from about noon - 8 on both days, and all via video conferencing. I almost certainly won't have enough broadband for this, with this T-Mobile warning message.

Did you say that I get unlimited 50-60 GB, or TB?, of fast streaming data before it switches to a slower speed with the Magenta plan?


I think 50-60 TB of data streaming would be enough for a month but don't think 50-60 GB will be fir all this regular video streaming (and realistic virtual earth building too). What would you suggest Kendan please?


I'll try to come into the T-Mobile, East Liberty store tomorrow, Monday, between 11am and noon to ask about this in person, but am wondering what to do in particular about live streaming the Monday 4/24/23 "WUaS News and Q&A" and enough T-Mobile broadband please.

Will I have to sign up for more broadband and pay $70 / month more in fees, so ~$145 /month (which I and WUaS can't afford in our poverty)?

Also, on a walk on the Three Rivers' heritage trail (have you walked on this Kendan?) near the Three Rivers' point on the Southside yesterday, I dropped my Pixel 3a smartphone by accident and its screen is pretty shattered, but the phone still works though. As we talked about on Wednesday, the Google Pixel 8 smartphone may be coming out in October, and be great for VR in a new way, but if I may be facing a 70$ month increase in smartphone wifi data charges beginning Monday or soon, might it be possible to get a new older Pixel phone like the
