Moutain Meadows: Life at Harbin - Ethnography

Harbin ethnography:

… so I continued my fieldwork at actual Harbin.

A man comes to Harbin to take a Watsu (Water Shiatsu) course. A woman arrives at Harbin to participate in the 4th level of the Human Awareness Institute's “Love, Intimacy and Sexuality” workshops. Someone comes to Harbin, shares Harbin's vision, and starts the Harbin Market. A woman comes here for drumming in the evening. A group of friends come to explore contact improv dance in the heart shaped pool. One resident cleans the warm pool, and the other pools, a few days a week for some years, and another runs the Harbin warehouse, where the auto shop and the Harbin computer office are. Many of these people who come to Harbin and stay, today as well, find freedom in a kind of alternative, hippy way of life here.
