Great to meet and hear from you. I learned much from you in so many ways, and appreciate greatly your 1960s and 1970s' thinking and experiences. 

Did I overhear you at the end of our ~2 hour talk say you have a short term sublet situation available in New Bedford in your house or similar - as we were parting?  

Having gotten to Cuttyhunk, I met Jamie Kidder on the Cuttyhunk Ferry dock whose mother, Joan (and is the widow of Dartmouth physics' professor John Kidder), is a great friend from as long ago as the 1970s, and who is on Cuttyhunk presently. I just emailed Joan -


"Am exploring finding another place to stay on Cuttyhunk for September and October as I write my 6th book, and before moving into a newly safe open 670 Ridgecrest Rd Canyon 94516 for a song potentially, with federal and state law working together,  and wonder if it might be possible please to stay on his boat or similar if it's in the water here (at the Marina or on a piling or similar).   

I almost began moving my things from Pittsburgh and this asylum year there on M 8/28/23 to Canyon 94516 on F 9/1/23, had paid a mover in Richmond VA a $1750 deposit when my friend Ed Smyth MD from Berkeley called me on 8/25/23 and said I don't have a place there yet, better to use the money to fly to the SF Bay Area AND with planning for the WUaS Academic Medical Center potentially on Nov 1, 2023 ... so I Managed to get the moving money refunded ... and without a place to stay in Sept or Oct decided to come here to Cuttyhunk. But now my mother is saying she would like me to leave our MacLeod Cuttyhunk house  - am not sure why but wonder think it may have something to do with the illegal sex drug and violence industries and their latent networks of violence and Sandy, and their entanglements, tragically or sadly ... so am exploring other options for staying on Cuttyhunk this September and October ...

Would Johnny's sailboat be a possibility possibly as rental - or might I even somehow please rent your cottage from you for this month or two? "


And while I haven't heard back from Joan yet, I would like to inquire with you, Holt - having heard from my mother Jane that she would like me to leave our MacLeod Cuttyhunk house - if you do have a short term rental available, if I might move into it please as early as tomorrow?


I would seek to depart in the Cuttyhunk Ferry at 3 tomorrow, arriving in New Bedford at 4 with my things, and if you have a place available would seek to check it out, move in, in the late afternoon. 

I'm seeking to write my 6th book, "Society, Information Technology and the Global University" in the next two months, fly out to the SF Bay Area at the end of September to check out if I might move the WUaS Academic Medical Center with a plan into 670 Ridgecrest Rd Canyon 94516 and on around Nov 1 2023, - but would much appreciate talking with you further about growing MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch.

Would it be possible please to explore this further in the morning with you? I'm not sure what options for living will pop up, but am thinking I might take a trip down to Florida, west to New Orleans, and north along the Mississippi to Pgh PA in the next month or two - seeking WUaS collaborations - before moving my things west from Pgh  To Canyon 94516 around Nov. 1. 2023.

Cuttyhunk is a safe and quiet place, and Lyra might seem out of place, but am appreciating that she's a support for you, - and Finn would be great. I can't pull up a picture of the MacLeod Cuttyhunk house at the moment on the Web, but here's the address and a Google Maps' satellite image - 

17 Bayview Dr, Cuttyhunk, MA 02713 

- which would show you too the walk from the Cuttyhunk Ferry dock, past 4 corners at Broadway and Bayview Drive, and just up the road from the Fish Dock/Cuttyhunk Harbormaster, and up the hill on Bayview Drive from 4 corners on the right. Our house is kind of just under the a in Slates' island on Bayview Drive road. There are about 3 miles of paved roads on Cuttyhunk :)

Dick Robb MD went to Princeton  too (like his 3 kids, and I think he went to Penn Med Sch, where his daughter Erica, whom I've known since childhood, is now an ENT Prof of medicine)

... I just recalled (but in his upper 80s had a stroke a few years ago, and am hoping aging reversal genetic drugs come along soon for such setbacks).
