Crepe myrtle: 3 1/2 draft chapters out of 9 of my Harbin ethnography in my blog here, Harbin URLs in Google Street View from June 2015 - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2015/06/himalayan-quail-ophrysia-superciliosa.html, my "Naked Harbin Ethnography" book, Meditation (like in Buddhism, but in a biological sense), In terms of translation of "Hippie to the Hot Springs' Eden Project" Harbin project, you asked if "Eden" comes out of the Bible, and I said something like "yes" in a New Age sense, and where Harbin is a kind of garden, but also where knowledge and sexuality are significant aspects of my anthropological book and interpretation ... best hippie songs of all time ...

Hi Nelson and All,

Nice to talk with you yesterday, and thanks for your great talks, Anja and Karen!

In developing my Harbin ethnographic book further for publication - http://www.scottmacleod.com/ActualVirtualHarbinBook.html - (I'm hoping to get a print copy into my mother's hands for her birthday on April 2 in Pennsylvania) and thinking about our conversation yesterday, I returned to a blog entry of mine with Harbin URLs in Google Street View from June 2015 - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2015/06/himalayan-quail-ophrysia-superciliosa.html. We can all add photos to Google Street View as well as "walk" through this virtual world.

I bet there’s an amazing trove of Harbin pictures in Google Street View … already … and who knows but in the rebuilding of Harbin after the fire, maybe they’ll add cameras around the pool area and in Harbin’s valley for real, real time video and especially for a STEM research virtual earth (in all languages) - like distributed GPS real time signals on all of our smartphones as we drive with Google Maps but extended dramatically … what an interesting world we live in … This would potentially raise all kinds of privacy questions re the big river out of the 1960s that Harbin as a Hippie to the Hot Springs' Eden Project is and will probably continue to be … but possibly now in real, real time video … and for tourism research? Oh my …

And putting cameras in Harbin's pool area - this is all hypothetical - for STEM research too, could be a precursor to something similar around the world for a film-realistic interactive virtual earth (I vote for realistic Google Street View with OpenSim), and also for anthropological, social science, science and tourism graduate students in many languages with Google Glass recording places in video around the world ... a hope for World University and School - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - planned in all countries and all languages.

Wiki MIT OCW-centric Cuba World University and School and in Spanish to come, Janet - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/WUaS_En_Wiki/index.php?title=Nation_States .

See some of you this evening at the TSWG talk - http://tourismstudies.org/news_archive/CalAdventures2016.htm - in the Gifford room at 5?

Just sayin'

Thank you very much,Scott. And I will learn from your book.Jie

*

You're very welcome, Jie! How would you translate Hippie to the Hot Springs' Eden Project into Chinese?

*
Sorry, Scott, could you explain the the "Hot Springs' Eden Project" to me? I donnot know what project it is. Jie

*
Hi Jie,

There are 3 1/2 draft chapters out of 9 of my Harbin ethnography in my blog. Reading this is probably the best way to begin to explain my Harbin Hot Springs' Eden Project (if you will) ethnography to you, since reading is also a good way to learn English, and I don't speak any Chinese language. Do you use Google Translate very much https://translate.google.com/ ?

My book begins here - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2010/02/natural-bonsai-harbin-ethnography-today.html (with the draft title page here - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2010/02/slender-loris-harbin-ethnography.html) and you would have to read the blog "up" so scroll back "older posts" to "older posts" to Tuesday, February 16, 2010, and then begin to read up. For reference, you could also click on the "Harbin Book Section" label http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Harbin%20Book%20Section

What Chinese languages do you speak? And how would you translate "Hippie to the Hot Springs' Eden Project" in the Chinese languages you know?

Best, Scott

Hi Jie,

Thanks for asking me to explain a little about my "Hippie to the Hot Springs' Eden Project" Harbin ethnographic project to you in person at the Tourism Studies Working Group meeting at UC Berkeley on Friday!

Here are some of the words you translated into Chinese

Hot Springs

Hippies

meditation (like in Buddhism, but in a biological sense via, for example, a warm water-informed relaxation response, or inner releasing action)

Eden

socio-culture

interpretation

In terms of translation of "Hippie to the Hot Springs' Eden Project" Harbin project, you asked if Eden comes out of the Bible, and I said something like "yes" in a New Age sense, and where Harbin is a kind of garden, but also where knowledge and sexuality are significant aspects of my anthropological book and interpretation ...
