Identity questions abound regarding cryptocurrencies, and as you may have been reading in the WUaS Minutes ...and this identity verification process by Stanford Mine Pi is a first practical step that they as an internet organization have instituted. What about privacy and law and law enforcement in most of all ~200 countries, if Stanford Mine Pi becomes a main almost single worldwide cryptocurrency? I would think state authorities could seek to access their databases ... and perhaps Stanford Mine Pi would relate to governments' requests for information in a way similar to the way Google and Alphabet have related to state governments. 

Is the information technology of Stanford Mine Pi as close as a cryptocurrency can get to cash in the information technology revolution? I'd speculate that it might be.
