Stanford Law [codex_group_meetings] TODAY! CodeX Mtg (12/7 @1.30p PT): AI Life Cycle Principles; Phosphor; Midpage (via Zoom)
Dear Roland, All,
Here are some Questions I asked in the text chat (or here) -
Eran -
How could abolition AI be added to your list as a core principle please - and by abolition here I mean abolishing the wrongful buying and selling of people eg in the illegal sex, drugs, violence, weapons, nuclear, exotic animals etc., industries, and their latent networks of violence, whether they be brown, white, black, yellow, red etc, ... so sex slaves, for example - at CC-4 licensed MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch which is planning to code for all 7.9 billion people on the planet in each of 200 countries and in their main languages, each a Wikidata PIN # from here -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - and to end poverty?
Oliver -
Here are some solar wiki schools, with much emerging MIT OCW courses, and how could the following 200 online law schools and for writing such computable contracts in the solar field ? ... -
AND
Otto -
what role might Google Bard play to help code or inform your interfaces and regarding ChatGPT - and regarding their ‘hallucinations’ too? … Have you built in ChatGPT into your system exclusively, and could you add Google Bard AI functionality differentially? (And following up nn another question in chat - have you worked with developed
midpage.ai in German ... or in any of the other ~200 countries' languages - and regarding their case law too?)
Looking forward to following up on some of these questions with time.
Best regards, Scott

CodeX Residential Fellowship 2024/25
CodeX – The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics is accepting applications for a Resident Fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year. CodeX is a cross-disciplinary research center jointly operated by Stanford Law School and the Stanford School of Engineering. The center's mission is to explore the application of technology toward improving the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of the legal system. Codex research fellows will have the opportunity to spend one to two years at Stanford Law School collaborating with scholars in computer science and other relevant disciplines. Fellows will work on the center's existing projects, and will have the opportunity to explore related research on their own and commence new projects. Fellows will work with cutting-edge technologies emerging from Stanford's engineering departments and will be expected to bring a legally oriented perspective toward integrating these technologies into the law. Fellows will also be involved in bringing in leading thinkers in the field to speak at the law school on these topic areas and will work with law and computer science students to engage them in the center's activities. The fellowship position reports directly to the CodeX Executive Director.
Because the primary focus of the center is employing technology within the law, applicants should also have experience in legal-, computer science-, or engineering-related fields. We welcome applicants with practical/professional technical experience in these fields as well as those with formal legal, computer science, or engineering undergraduate or graduate training. Applicants should be capable of learning and be comfortable with the technological aspects of the center's projects.
Consistent with its obligations under the law, the university will provide reasonable accommodation to any employee with a disability who requires accommodation to perform the essential functions of the job.
How to Apply:
All qualified and interested applicants must apply via the Stanford jobs website here and include:
- A resume
- A brief letter (no more than 2 pages) describing the applicant's interest in issues related to applying technology to the law, the applicant's background, and the research that the applicant proposes to conduct
- A list of references
Review of applications will begin immediately, and all applications must be received by January 19, 2024. For more information about the Stanford CodeX Center and its projects please visit http://codex.stanford.edu, or contact CodeX Executive Director Roland Vogl at rvogl@law.stanford.edu.
Stanford Law School seeks to hire the best talent and to promote a safe and secure environment for all members of the university community and its property. To that end, new staff hires must successfully pass a background check prior to starting work at Stanford University.
Stanford University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Hi Sandy, Janie, Sidd Mazumdar (HHS - US govt), Tym Lenderking (US state department), Ed Smyth MD, all,
Sandy, all, I just texted this to my mother regarding growing an abolition movement and being extra careful in upcoming months and years to protect yourself, having called for US federal protection of you, Ma (Janie) and myself not long ago:
for connecting university employers with students. And in growing an abolition movement, I asked to be unsubscribed from their emails, including Harvard Law professor Larry Lessig and other lawyers and MIT OCW executives like Cecilia d'Oliveira ... And I also included that email about abolition of modern slavery re race and color - since Ma you've said a number of times recently I think that you don't know what abolition means ... In having called for US federal protection of you, Sandy and myself not long ago, I'd like to encourage you to reach out to Sandy to be extra extra careful these days, months and years ahead (as US federal protection gets its bearings in these regards too in Maine) ... and as this abolition movement grows (see below too).
*
Would you please remove me from this list.

Dear Lawrence,
I've removed you from this email thread too; I am particularly interested in how abolishing the wrongful buying and selling of people movement will grow in countries like Ukraine, and Russia, and in all ~200 countries and regarding law enforcement - and to protect people - as well as in New England states.
Thanks,
Scott GK MacLeod
