How are you? How's your weekend going? Glad to have heard Julie Herndon and four other Stanford composers' pieces played last night by the Taks Ensemble (from NYC with a number of Oberlin grads) yesterday evening, to have met Julie's partner, John Iver, and to have talked a bit more with Julie and a number of the composers. Somewhat 'normal' creative evening among avant garde, post-hippie Stanford 'brights,' in avant garde (sometimes 'curious') northern California. Julie feels a bit like kin somehow, could be a UU woman (but isn't I think), is creative (very nice composition, and well played), is helpful, from the eastern seaboard ... 

The online WUaS Music School could emerge in collaboration with some of these folks (and Stanford's CCRMA too) too even.

Good WUaS monthly business meeting yesterday.

Would like to grow a circle of kin somehow in very diverse Bay Area California (where sometimes its sexual vibes can weird me out) ... it's not obvious how to however ... individual and group questions I think ... and perhaps emerging into network society questions.

How is your week going?

Fascinating day at Stanford on Wednesday (2/6). There's a lot of great envisioning and knowledge-generation happening at Stanford as place, as ethos, as great university. For example:

Are Yoga poses in the morning like Xmas presents, each involving a kind of "opening" :) Not really ... there's more excitement and anticipation in Xmas presents, while there's an aspecting of centering down to do the yoga poses that's different. But exploring doing Yoga poses is a real gift, and better when done more often than received once a year. The asana movements are good for my right shoulder, my left hip and longer left leg today. Vajrasana and cycle, Virasana and cycle, Dandasana, Boat poses, and some twists this morning (appreciating Dona Holleman's "Yoga Syllabus for Teacher and Student" and its companion book, Asana in Photo, which you'll find mentioned here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/02/padma-nelumbo-nucifera-dutch-yoga.html).

Seeking to get started raising a young family, and am thinking Dona Holleman's approaches to Yoga open possibilities with regard to freeing oneself from some of the curious idea-culture of Yoga (asceticism etc) ...

While I haven't yet mentioned Angela and Victor's Yoga marriage here - http://www.scottmacleod.com/yoganotations.html (in my innovative Hippy Anjali Yoga Notations) - explicitly (which they explore quite consciously and in innovative ways - the idea of a Yoga marriage, albeit Victor has kids from a previous marriage), I probably will, in these regards too.

National Science Foundation's WUaS award news:
After a 6 month waiting period and as a requirement in the NSF grant process, WUaS has now successfully gotten a US Government "Data Universal Numbering System" (DUNS) # and is now now registering for a "System for Award Management" (SAM) account, potentially the last required step in this NSF grant award process, before WUaS receives the award.

The Stanford Basic Income Lab is excited to announce that it will be hiring on a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with the Lab from September 2019-August 2020. While your talk touched on so many timely and topical issues, I'd like to ask you about just a few.

Am writing to ask you about possible Community College students matriculating at World Univ & Sch after they get their AA degrees, esp. Community College 115 students, since they will already have much online learning experience? How might we best collaborate on this, especially with regard to our platforms, as well as state of California accreditation?

World University and School's pilot languages are Spanish, Chinese and English - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/. How might we collaborate re degrees, and more, in each of these languages?

While WUaS seeks to become the online Stanford / MIT of the internet, and in each of all ~200 countries' I greatly appreciate your focus on jobs and careers' planning for California Community Colleges' students, and WUaS seeks to integrate a career focus - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Career_counseling (accessible from https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects) - for our graduates as well, and especially with an online focus. For example, WUaS seeks to develop a realistic virtual earth for our degrees in all ~200 countries' languages, which will involve much 'building out' and hence job generation. WUaS is also seeking highest achievers academically, but we may have to build toward this - and by offering both MIT OCW and Yale OYC courses for free-to-students' degrees, but also by creating new online learning opportunities, beginning conceptually with graduate student instructors teaching in group video to MIT faculty (already in video too).

As I mentioned WUaS seeks to develop online Medical Schools - which could dovetail with your CCC Medical Coding major developments, - and potentially in collaboration with Stanford Medicine for something like CC-4 OpenCourseWare, since MIT doesn't have a medical school (or a law school. You'll find the beginning World Univ & Sch online medical school and teaching hospital for clinical care in English here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Medical_School and https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Hospital - and the IDEA for online medical schools with online teaching hospitals for clinical care here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/02/lithops-collaboration-between-stanford.html (check out the "global university" label here) - and, at some point in the future, online clinical care could also emerge out of Project ECHO (see blog entry) and a Stanford / Duke / Google Project Baseline-into-3D-interactive-avatar-bots at the street view, cellular and atomic levels too - and for bio-engineering (which I also write about in this blog post). Eloy, do you happen to know Stanford's LBAN - Latino Bay Area Network - which is focusing on scaling Latino businesses within a Stanford context? May I introduce you to them as well?
