re the UU church esp ... at bottom here -
Thoughts? How are you today?
Love, Scott
Recent email to David and Heather, and I'm not sure what the apostrophe means in the middle of his " we'll " :
Thanks, David,
Many years could be a long time regarding Harvard & MIT Professor of Genetics' George Church ... :)

And re the church word, and your occasional Unitarian signature, did you grow up in an UU church in part? Here are some related recent Tweets:
Thanks for your email, and cheers, David and Heather!
If I ever find my way back to living at 670 Ridgecrest Road in Canyon 94516, please come and visit, David (I know Heather has a couple of times, but without you!)

Congratulations Scott. Hope the new house works out we’ll for many years - sounds quite idyllic.

Hi David and Heather,
Greetings from a new 'safe house' just north of Berkeley, with amazing views of the SF Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge to the west, the new mast and rigging architecture of the Bay Bridge to the south, as well as views to the north of the Richmond bridge.
Scott
https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/CanyonJust shared the following with Reed College friend Byron (from the early 1980s), and his wife Cindy, in these regards:
Byron and Cindy,
Thank you, Cindy, for your encouragement to call the Moraga police the first time I had evidence there was an illegal break in, and make an official report. As a whistleblower, I'm moving out of Canyon for the time being, and would like to return your helpful bookshelf, Byron, to you if you want it back (for Tahoe? etc). I'm hoping to move some of my other furniture to my new place north of Berkeley, and would gladly return it to you / your driveway if this sounds good to you. I'll plan to drop it off this week, unless you suggest something else.
Thank you so much,
Scott
(After at least 3 illegal Canyon break-ins, entries (over the summer), thefts and over years, reported officially to the Moraga police, and hypothetically homicidal, psychopathological, paraphilic, and kleptomaniac of mentally ill former landlord, there's a possibility CA legal action COULD MOVE THEM OUT to protect the innocent even ... ) ...Could I come into that place for a song? Stay tuned.

Ma,
David signature says something about a Unitarian jihad ... and refers to a John Carroll piece in the SF Chronicle - not clear of its meaning ...

... and am hoping things work out ...
Heading out to bring another load of moving items to Arlington
Navin shared the gardener's tel number and signed off Good luck, as if the gardener, whom I greeted in a friendly way when I first moved in, might be good (whereas not all people are ... eg perhaps the mentally ill former landlord )
Am hoping to move all my suitcases and related stuff (including fan etc.) from the storage shelf above the bathroom sink today - and put them on the plank outside ... and the good thing about such a house-let emptying process is that the free bench near the USPO offers a good place to jettison things, so I bring over to Arlington mostly what I want for a longer term ...
I wonder whether David and Heather, his wife who's a lawyer - and both of whom I met once on a walk with Ed in downtown Oakland near a Bansai festival perhaps pre-arranged by Ed (and I'm not sure why - and I was a bit even concerned afterward at the time about this) - could have a hand in mental health decisions re mentally ill people, and whether Heather could even help in legal transfer of house ...
Ed just appeared to call my telephone, but didn't leave a message, - my having emailed him my 'safe house' email this morning too (to you, and to him alone) ... Will see what unfolds in all of this, as I head out soon to get groceries, and then another load ... I've been living in curious circumstances these last 13 years with mentally ill former landlord, and wonder if Ed could have been calling about this too somehow ... Am wondering too how all 8 or so people I emailed about being in a 'safe house' communicate with each other in some ways too. Glad David Newitt emailed me - and that he and Patti Cobb are really good friends. :)
When to call the gardener about a possible pick up truck, and then to inquire with him about getting rid of my mattress? I also haven't heard back yet from Byron about returning his bookcase ... and which I'd do in the same trip with the gardener potentially ... (I've created a list of large furniture for pickup truck, and hope it would all fit in one load, perhaps first bringing a bookcase back to Byron 4 miles away separately....)
How's your day going and how are you?
On with piping and 'Honey in the Bag' :) ... churches have their downsides too (am recalling what George used to call them 'death cults' ... and am aware that this kind of language is part of church culture ... and that philosophy provides an alternative and a freedom from 'church' and the illnesses of 'religion' yet I'm also appreciative of the 'love' idea in such caring groups, including Friends, who don't use the church word, and build Meeting Houses instead ... and yet Nontheist Friends head a different route even still ... )
Sending love, Scott

Hi Ma,
And could what appeared to be a call from Ed have been somehow from Google instead - even possibly accomplices of Canyon-ites hypothetical badness? Don't know ... I don't hear that often from Ed ... and he's more in the role of KP MD these days that regularly communicating friend ...
Glad I heard from David, ... and will figure out what it may have meant with time ... (ie is the idyllic place where I live now on Arlington, or could he have been referring indirectly to Canyon and it being idyllic ... and that somehow he's congratulating me for coming into it (and possibly with Heather's legal help too)?
Self-heal is a nice name - - but I'd think and hope that medicine these days can do better than 'self-heal' approaches to a variety of challenges :)

Ma,
And even re these good critiques by George Alexander MD of church,
I come back to these 2 RECENT tweets re the 'church' word and learning & teaching love - yet in a wiki non evangelizing way (one of many problems with church memes)
And which, hearing George for example, I think I can subtly stand by these tweets AND FACILITATE MANY PEOPLE IN MANY LANGUAGES SUBTLY TEACHING AND LEARNING LOVE ...

Ma,
Much about 'church' here ...
and as I hear the moving Allman brothers' rock band from the 1970s, (is rock & roll a church for some?), and
as a picture of Yosemite (another church for some) comes on Google Smart TV ...
and I recognize that Harbin is also Heart Consciousness Church (HCC), with other meanings of church ...
... and that psychiatry per Lacanian psychiatrist George Alexander MD, and psychiatry in California, for ex., have a long long way to go (but George was among the most skillful and smartest and linguistically oriented in the field), - and picking up the pieces of challenges possibly created by the above even, including by especially 'church' :)
And then the internet signal flicks off from the AT&T signal - and could that be caused somehow by a circle of Googlers? And is Google even a church for some? :)
... continuing to move out ... :) ... and will pass by the closed Unitarian church of Kensington in the move today ... Oh, society - as a church (and society in a Castellian sense :) )! :)
Love, Scott

Ma,
And then there's George Church re 'church' word ... and potentially reversing aging ... wow ... what a concept :)
How soon could humans reverse the aging process with genetic engineering?
Have put much of this thread in here -
I read the last chapter in Dick Robb's book this morning, on evolution ... was moved, and learned much.
Love, Scott
