The red cushion was on the fairly nice teak chair (which repair is still holding together, although little hints of wear are emerging, and as Navin suggested about not leaning back, I don't lean back :)

But the green cushion got wet outside in the nighttime dew, so the red cushion is finding its way outside on a nice foggy day, - for breakfast :)

A little diversion for you (and from the negativity of the ideas spewing forth on the media :) 'Communication Power' (Castells' 2009/2013 book) which touches on ideology and symbolizing via the internet is fascinatingly relevant ... Hi Scott,

Glad your Land’s End gift arrived.  Nice that you got a package from Sandy and Kate too.

The last few days have been dramatic/scary and mesmerizing.  I worry that Trump is so unstable that he might do something more both before and after the inauguration.  In any case, we’ll see how this plays out.  In the meantime, I’m rationing my time before the telly and trying to get some perspective from commentators I trust through print media as well as the TV. 

The weather has been unseasonably nice for this time of year - and we had our regular lunch this noon - outside and distanced.  37 degrees; sunny; and no wind;  Nice.

Yes Rump's instability is great cause for concern especially since Congresswoman Pelosi, for ex., had to talk with the head of USA Uniformed Services about wresting nuclear control from that 'chief commander' arse ... Right-wing extremism in this country too.  ... Seems like the media is doing a good job too however re reporting on Impeachment hearings beginning on Monday again, to keep Rump on defensive and divide the Reprehensibles ... But how to plan against the unexpected action of the Rs ... And his incentives to stay in power? ... Inauguration day violence? So many other possibilities though ... Maybe there's more possible planning time now for internal terrorist attacks in next 3 weeks given the recent attack on US capitol ??? ... Keeping an eye on foreign powers -
