I won't pretend to know about all the particulars, but the site maps I see put the project well off our shores (the other side of the Vineyard, mostly). I can't think of any impact it would really have on any of the islands, other than cosmetic. As a species, we are not in a position to be turning down viable clean energy projects these days. We have the wind for it. If the argument is that there will be windmills on our distant horizon, I am sorry to say, that seems a very NIMBYish position for which I don't have a lot of tolerance (remember the thing was shelved for a while because the hoity-toities on the other islands couldn't bear the slightest marring of their precious views). Obviously there could be aspects I'm not considering, and I hope smarter people than I will consider all aspects, but I am strongly in favor from what I know now.

One additional question comes to mind, and since the prevailing winds on Cuttyhunk are from the South West: will Cuttyhunk be directly downwind of a possible (deafening in a strong wind) windmill factory machinery noise for the next few decades until quieter newer turbines can come along and replace these? How could Cuttyhunk come to know this beforehand - and from engineers from the state of Massachusetts' Department of Environmental Protection, as well as possibly independent engineers - and possibly in the Cuttyhunk POND in particular?
