Professor Hennessy, Scots, Gaels, Celts, and Seafarers,

The question came up in World University and School's OPEN participatory monthly business meeting this morning - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2019/04/agenda-news-for-open-monthly-business.html (minutes to come) - how best to invite Scots in Scotland to World University and School as WUaS accredits with CA's BPPE for Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees, and in English - and potentially matriculate students this autumn even - and building a curriculum out of CC-4 MIT OCW that would make sense and be enjoyable for Scottish kids eventually at the Bachelor, Ph.D. and I.B. levels (and where these accrediting degrees would have value in Scotland). (Not focusing on the Scots' Gaelic wiki school - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Scottish_Gaelic_language (for open teaching and learning) - planned in Scots yet, Wilson:). The question also came up how to engage Scots' First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and the Scottish Parliament about this (I heard Nicola Sturgeon not too long ago at Stanford - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/04/atlantic-salmon-scots-first-minister.html (but you're mentioned in this post, Ambassador McFaul) - and I think you might have been listening in the audience too, John H. - n'est-ce pas?). And lastly, how best to develop the WUaS International Baccalaureate degree potentially in communication with Fettes College which I attended in 1977-78 (or 76-77) - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/04/saraca-asoca-ashoka-tree-thank-you-for.html and https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/04/cherry-plum-fettes-college-macleod.html - and which become an IB school in the last 15 years or so. Professor Hennessy, I didn't read anything about this in your great and helpful book "Leading Matters: Lessons from my Personal Journey," which I enjoyed a lot, but suspect that you would have multiple great ideas about this. How might we explore some of these questions further? (This will also potentially become a model for a variety of online MIT OCW-centric WUaS universities in small countries' around the world, and making the MIT OCW-centric degrees inspiring, helpful and relevant - and newly creative online even conceptually in Google group video Hangouts, and eventually in a single realistic virtual earth as classrooms, and STEM field sites (am thinking Google Street View with time slider plus Google ecosystem here).

You might all also enjoy this email to some Berkeley Open Band friends re further envisioning of my upcoming "Honey in the Bag Scottish small pipes' CD:

Hi Patti, Barbara and Bruce,

Re further "Honey in the Bag" Scottish small pipes' CD envisioning, it occurs to me that playing with someone often leads to very moving & rhythmic music to my ears (and makes the process social as well:) ... e.g re the Isle of Skye's Scottish small piper Brìghde Chaimbeul often, for example, and that doing so, brainstorming-wise, even or esp. with an Alasdair Fraser could be great (but I don't know Alasdair Fraser at all to speak of), - since I find his music very lyrical and inspired and happy. (He's kind of much a Scottish hippy too:). And re Jane's recent email and the upcoming SF Scottish Fiddler's performances, where I could possibly meet Alasdair (and ask him too about best places to play when traveling around Scotland re Open Band brainstorming-wise) ... and if the way opened to play SSP with the SF Scottish Fiddlers on Thursdays, for example, I could play small pipes socially twice a week. (How much time do people spend a week with SFSF?) Hmmm ... Barbara - you know Alasdair some from the SFSF ... is any of this in the realm of possibility? He's recorded a lot too! Could I create a SSP and fiddle duet "Honey in the Bag" CD with Alasdair in 2020 I wonder? Hmmm ... would be great to collaborate re his musicality, knowledge, CD production experience, friendliness, connecting, Scottish wisdom, etc., but I'm also still exploring this "Honey in the Bag" Scottish small pipes' CD as a solo album in 2020.

See you soon, Scott

How are all of you doing? Happy Easter from a non-theistic f/Friend :)
