Lego robot cycle exploration with Twitter example 17 Nov 20

Ma,

Inspired by this little Lego trike robot on Twitter ...
in this cool cycle pic

I tried to make something similar using, first, the Lego WeDo 2.0 Robotics' Tutorial for a vehicle, but it didn't work out ... I really like the tutorial for this ... So just getting back into making Lego Robotics with WeDo 2.0 (which I have) ... and seeking to program it with Scratch3.0 programming languages, for which there aren't any tutorials ... so time to explore and innovate ...

I enjoyed #LegoWeDo2 tutorials & block programming language, but am also seeking some edX intro #WUaSLegoRobotics courses @WorldUnivAndSch Found only http://www.legoengineering.com/scratch-ing-the-lego-wedo/ & https://cubeforteachers.com/folders/qXHFn6qcDMd0CqMi1eRjXTnxnEljy8kXIDf0gdiRFbTDbwOFPoMzrrJPFqBBlKnp &  https://www.robocamp.eu/en/lessons/citycamp-wedo2-scratch/ https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Robotics ~

Ma,

I'd like to play through the WeDo 2.0 tutorial in a completely new & FUN way (and not somehow a self-created frustrated way :) ... which fun the WeDo1 tutorial facilitated ... but playing beyond the Tutorial some months ago didn't much emerge afterward ...There is, however, an online talk I'm attending on Thursday about Lego play & learning ... ),

.... and perhaps incorporating Scratch3, before heading on to the 2 other Lego Robotics' kits, is something I'd like to do with my WeDo2.0 too -

I also have in mind creating Intro Lego Robotics' courses for WUaS (possibly in WUaS Open edX, and per -  https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/experimental-study-group/es-293-lego-robotics-spring-2007/ ) for this

Glad to have gotten out my Wedo2 robotics' Lego today and made something ... now as I read the well-known book interested much in JS Bach's music, "Goedel, Escher Bach," by Douglas Hofstaedter (with some Stanford and Oregon in the 1970s roots), time to get out my keyboard and explore playing JS Bach's Inventions and Fugues, hands on ...

I remember George Alexander MD read this book with someone in Cambridge, MA (Charlie Nesson???), and invited me to read it with them, before he passed away ... in the 2000s.

Love, Scott

Ma,

Just added this bio of you, which I like (think is good), to your WikiTree page, in Notes - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Brown-92989 -

Volunteer of the Month-Jane MacLeod (bio)
https://www.cmu.edu/osher/publications/weekly-essentials/2018/volunteer-of-the-week/volunteer-of-the-month-jane-macleod.html

Would love to add this photo of you in front of the Magna Carta commemoration stone in the British Isles, to WikiTree, but will wait a bit  (is the photo yours? ... or is it CMU's, for ex.?)...

More about the amazing 'rule of law' Magna Carta

Looks like Edward I, 3 generations after the Magna Carta was written, confirmed it -
".... son, Edward I, repeated the exercise in 1297, this time confirming it as part of England's statute law. " (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Carta)

GREAT DOCUMENT here -
Edward I’s Confirmation of Magna Carta, 1297

Hi Edith, Ethridges, Gilberts, Harveys, Janie Kirkbride Brown MacLeod, All,

This wonderful marriage license picture for George Kirkbride and Jane Horn in Kirkbythore, England from 1868 - https://www.wikitree.com/photo.php/3/3d/Kirkbride-320.jpg - reappeared in this email thread, so I've added it to WikiTree (and also to Ancestry .com - https://www.ancestry.com/mediaui-viewer/tree/162331043/person/252115007350/media/1034d97d-3656-49a1-be84-deddc9c08cc2 - ) ... to become further familiar with how these genealogy platforms work ...

I've also created these two new WikiTree pages for -

George Kirkbride (1838 - 1918)
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kirkbride-320
(See, too, George Kirkbride in Ancestry .com - https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/162331043/person/252115007349/story )

Jane Horn (1838 - 1906)
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Horn-6867
(See, too, Jane Horn in Ancestry .com - https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/162331043/person/252115007350/story )

(accessible from
Rachel Agnes (Kirkbride) Gilbert (1873 - 1958)
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kirkbride-298

and
my Granny Rachel (Gilbert) Brown (1905-1997)

Please check out what you have access to ... there's much to learn as we add things, and thus become historians in the process ... it's kinda fun, and regarding origin stories in a way :)

I was particularly moved by some documents uploaded by my first cousin Mark MacLeod that told personal stories of other grandparents in Ancestry. com ... and would love to learn of your memories, anecdotes, and also see related documents ... potentially in WikiTree because it's free, high quality, easy to use and not behind a paywall, for example, so somehow is quite open. I'd also love to be able to ask some questions of some of you ... and in this time of Covid-19 ... Skype or Google Meet video conferencing seems to make this possible in a new way?

Shall we explore some mini-family reunions :)?

Warm regards, Scott

Pin, David, Tym,

How are you?

The Allman Brothers Band ‎– Live At The Atlanta International Pop Festival July 3 & 5, 1970

https://youtu.be/zKiKnB6I04w (the concert which lead into the Blind Faith jamming - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/11/amitostigma-lepidum.html - I hadn't heard before)

It's quite a party in pictures ... And I'm guessing the amazing guitar player Duane Allman, from Florida and a hippy, was playing (since he died in October '71 ). A lot of freedom at these concerts!

I think the WUaS News, and Q&A, yesterday, Monday could lead to planning to code for all 7.8 billion people on planet, each a Wikidata Q-item #, as WUaS wiki teachers and learners re free people-to-people universal education, in all 200 countries and 7000 living languages, or Wikidata Pin #, and even UBI experiments to DISTRIBUTE a single cryptocurrency backed by most central banks, and mineable to alleviate poverty :).

Fond regards,Scott

I heard an inspiring Sunanda song the other day on the iHeartRadio App but am not finding similar yet but this Sunanda is interesting https://youtu.be/nt1znahlv_8 ...

Do you enjoy Sunanda's , and Indian playback (like Harharan's music too) music? What algorithms are selecting this music on the iHeartRadio App for a kind of bliss quality ... and even regarding a small part of Nick Seaver's anthropological research?

A recent related idea I'm exploring re modernity (and possibly  post-modernity re https://www.euppublishing.com/userimages/ContentEditor/1435747128473/Bollywood%20and%20Postmodernism.pdf) and especially 'internetity' :
