Good morning, Ma, and happy upcoming Thanksgiving!

I invited Ed and his family over for Thanksgiving, but they won't come. Nice to be touch and hear back further from him about N too. In...

A little bit of cabin fever yesterday, am glad to be making headway on my educational project's database for course selection for students for January. Meeting with Houcemeddine in Tunisia again at 10 this morning.

On with the MBM Minutes (probably around Dec 1 2020), upcoming POETRY BOOK and PIPING ALBUM. I may explore first recording my album from home and to Bandcamp (simply by uploading tracks -
 - before December 4 on which day they waive the 15% they take otherwise when my musical recordings are bought, and https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search?q=Bandcamp&m=1. (Then friends could potentially buy some digital recordings, and I'd get all of the money, rather than ~85% of the money).  THIS 12/4 DATE PROVIDES BOTH A GOAL TO POST THESE MY SCOTTISH SMALL PIPING RECORDINGS, AND A RUN THROUGH BEFORE COMMITTING TO THE COST OF STUDIO TIME TO CD RECORDING. (Or maybe even Bandcamp will eventually facilitate creating a CD or recording to other physical media in the future). It's interesting recording as a solo musician, re a kind of isolation - where a sense of fans or CREATING paying  audience could transform this sense of isolation. Can Bandcamp I.T. make such community building for my small piping possible in a brand new way, since it's free otherwise for artists to post? C'est possible! ... And a good dress rehearsal ...

Getting into and thinking through the psychology of being a SSP musician (poetry book writer too) and new possibilities thanks to Web.

GREAT TO REVISIT MY POETRY FROM 2012-2013 as I bring this my next upcoming book to fruition (and pay for the costs of publishing it in the WUaS Press) ...  recordings per re - https://www.amazon.com/author/scottmacleodworlduniversity ...

It's lovely poetry of Harbin and Cuttyhunk and India, and so much more + re the experience of being there :)

Do I want to create larger communities as well as (paying) audiences for WUaS, SSP album, next poetry book, re an internal sense of not knowing how? It's all possible newly on WEB and re my own conflicts about this creative process, psychology of goal achievement, and growing (artistic and learning) communities for these - and feeling like I'm connecting in the process  ... (George Alexander's thinking about individualism AND AGENCY - choice or action or intentional causation  - come to mind here too).

APPRECIATING  Ma  your wonderful card saying "you are brave bold kind proud courageous fierce strong determined inspiring loved" :) (with echoes too for me of J.K.) ... As I navigate here in writing too questions of psychology, and fruitfully a bit.

Larger communities for the above? What kinds of communities? What qualities? And newly via the Web I wonder - in what ways? Would a partner be part of this developing community? Hmmm ... :)

See you all - family community :) - at 10 a on Thursday for > 40 minutes.

Love, Scott

Hi Ed, would you and your family like to come over for a mostly outside, socially distanced, masked  Thanksgiving this Thursday around 2. It looks like the temperature will be around 66 in the afternoon, and I'll have prepared a vegetarian turkey (like last time) but this time with Dutch potatoes and celery, a salad, and maybe some other yummies, including coffee ice cream and pumpkin pie. There are 8 chairs outside too. ...  inside the hospital (which in a very serious epidemic could be one of the worst places on the planet to be:) ... but if this is a coronavirus pandemic, masks and social-distancing could work well. Cheers, Scott

Scott:
It might be more sensible too to wait until Covid-19 threat is past, Ed (whatever kind of IN CASE OF EMERGENCY threat it is, I'll posit ... am amazed by the dearth of newspaper articles about US bioterrorism preparedness developments in recent months!) Thoughts? :) Happy Thanksgiving! Fondly, Scott

Ed:
I was puzzling over your gracious invitation.   I think it would be awkward.

Ed:
More later.  Nice too to see a picture of N...!

Scott:
Sounds good! ๐Ÿ™‚

"VGood news comes from the pharmaceutical companies: Vaccines against the corona virus have been developed and will soon go into mass production. The logistics for perhaps the largest vaccination campaign in world history are underway. All over the world, in a few months, millions of people will be immunized against the virus every day, and then, in summer 2021, by autumn at the latest, the corona crisis will be over. That's what one thinks. This is what the hopes of politicians, entrepreneurs, cinema and theater operators, restaurateurs and artists are all about. But this hope is likely to be deceptive.

Not because the vaccinations may not bring immunity at all, but because the corona pandemic that we are currently experiencing will probably only be the first in a long series of virus pandemics and other so-called natural disasters. ... "

Good morning, my wonderful mother, again,

How are you? And what are you up to today?

Woke up early, sought again to snooze, ... Some further questions and thoughts with regard to my emails this morning, and
re community and sometimes sense of isolation, and achieving things, creatively too, - do I have a community re sporadic readers of my 6 Twitter feeds, I wonder? (Blog too?)  Is this the kind of community I may be seeking to grow from further (IT wise) into the future? (Re my upcoming UC Berkeley TSWG talk too ... Will I seek to publish this as an academic paper too?).
What kind of community am I seeking in person, and either to let grow, or to create, and regarding my past experiences of wondrous community? Who could help facilitate this?

AND ...
is the psychology of the US changing now (online media-wise) with president-elect now heading into office on Jan 20 2021? I think so. What can we create in these regards psychology-wise too in the whole US as individuals? (By writing, or creating videos ... or ...?)

(And what did all the tRump lawyers and govt officials 'cover up,' legally or illegally too (and behind the veil of armed services???), in the 2 weeks of uncertainty about next president, due to a conceit by T, post Nov 3 2020 presidential election? And re, for ex., this Boston Globe article too "We said the nation does not want to see Trump dragged from the White House. Were we wrong? On Monday, we published a lighthearted article about how one might coax an unwilling President Trump from the White House if he stubbornly continues to refuse to acknowledge the election results. Then came the replies." -
https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/11/24/nation/we-suggested-readers-wanted-an-uneventful-transition-they-had-other-opinions/). A few of what I'll call moral questions are arising for me re the new cabinet appointees, but in a very different vein and light (and even regarding my whistle blowing in recent years about SF Quakers, UC Berkeley, Stanford, Reed College, Canyon +) - re ethics. How to elicit the best of a Stanford great vision or cultural processes in new administration (and also re WUaS).

Good too to have participated in the Friends Association for Higher Education (FAHE) panel conversation yesterday, facilitated by Bryn Mawr research professor David Ross (with only very very slight moral questions arising regarding 1 or 2 of the speakers re for ex. SF Quakers and PYM Quakers, possibly pre-pandemic). I like Quakers in general, appreciate their ethics, and as a Friend, but also as a non-theistic Friend / Quaker (which community isn't that large). The FAHE panel yesterday is a kind of community, but partly thanks to David Ross's facilitation and the Friendly community he kind of drew together here ๐Ÿ˜Š ...

Wow - new Lego Foundation head as it's new Chief Impact Officer ... inspiring, smart and good ...

Videos here ...
Lego Foundation's Sarah Bouchie

Will WUaS work with her eventually? Perhaps ... :)

Although N. is attractive, and re connecting, am continuing to circulate, and while playing  ... waiting and watching and laying low (to use a phrase George used) ... It's worth not forgetting evolutionary biology in all of us re the above :)

Alden,

I'm writing to wish you a very happy birthday!

I'd like to share this free online 'MIT Medical' Yoga class with you on Thanksgiving Day Th 11/26 (and maybe beyond) - by registering with MIT Medical as an affiliate, but at 7am in the morning that day in the SF Bay Area - early! I'm unfamiliar with the Wellness Instructor who is teaching this Yoga class, Susanna (Zan) Barry - https://medical.mit.edu/community/wellness/instructors/susanna-zan-barry - but am  appreciating the focus on wellness! Am appreciative also of MIT's thinking approach to some aspects of life, and will see what comes up inner body exploration-wise! :)

Not the possibly salutary aspects of sitting in Quaker Meeting in a kind of silent meditation at George School in high school, but MIT's Yoga could be a salutary kind of meditation and beneficial movement leading to wellness :)

Fond regards, Scott

(Again, I added some of the family history you shared with me in August here -  https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/08/scots-pine-scottish-small-pipes-theory.html?m=0 - and please check out the 'longevity' label regarding aging reversal developments from time to time. It would be great to see you soon post-coronavirus as well, and how are you doing?) Happy birthday! ... ๐Ÿค—

PS
Here's how to access the free Yoga class with Zan, and also join the MIT Medical community, it would seem ...

Join Community Wellness at MIT Medical for a virtual Thanksgiving Day class combing movement, relaxation, and gratitude.
No experience necessary. Please invite family and friends to join you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ

Hi Alden,

Did you by any chance try to attend this birthday Yoga class from MIT? I tried to attend but there were a few further steps in the MIT MEDICAL registration process I noticed this morning before taking the Yoga class with Zan Barry, but interesting to see this video with her:

Zan Barry
Stress Management COVID 19
and to have joined the MIT Medical community.

Interesting too to see where they head with Wellness as an university, and per my big educational project as well. Kaiser Permanente has a lot of online Wellness resources too. WUaS might be able to collaborate with KP even for these. But are they helpful?

Was curious to see Zan Barry as a teacher ... and the above video gives some impression ... Maybe a Yoga class with her will emerge in video at MIT Medical to explore further, but I also appreciate seeing some parallels in the above video with my good friends, who also went to Wesleyan like Zan, David Thurston and Tym Lenderking, very loosely :)

Glad I did my own daily Yoga meditation beforehand :)

Happy birthday, and here's to Wellness - and possibly even regarding longevity (https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/longevity) and aging reversal!

Fond regards, Scott
