Hi M,
Just emailed DAVID the following, which you might find interesting.
"Thanks for your email. Too bad we'll miss each other in DC, and looking forward to seeing you over Christmas in Pittsburgh. Re Cuttyhunk ...
(Am curious if and when World University and School begins to grow significantly, and if I can become the 170th richest person in the world by the time I'm 100 years' old, whether I or WUaS might be able buy - if they ever came on the market - Winter House, the Avalon, the Fishing Club and the West End, and turn them all into either local historical districts, and/or turn the west end into a NRDC Natural Resources' Defense Council-informed - i.e. the best public oriented land conservation / protected natural area / national park-like open space - and OPEN to the public as a resource ) ... and for historical re-enactments in the local historical districts (eg of Gosnold's time, the 1870s, and of "hippy Cuttyhunk" in the 1970s?:) both actually and virtually ... and, in the West End, ethno-botanical re-creations e.g. of the 1600s, and of 10,000 years ago ... and when it was glaciated or under water too ... Too bad many of the other Elizabeth Islands are closed to the public since they're privately held.
Just brainstorming here ... I agree that Cuttyhunk doesn't want the kind of development of Winter House which you, I think, for example successfully spearheaded earlier this year.
Applying here for a MIT Media Lab faculty position again - application due by Fr Dec 1.
Will give Tym my greetings from you, if and when I see him in DC over New Year's."
How's your day going, M? :)
L,
Scott

My thoughts on why we need a class to describe “(bibliographic) item collections” in @wikidata and @wikicite. Feedback welcome. https://t.co/hoV1Sz2Ui6— Dario Taraborelli (@ReaderMeter) November 24, 2017

YOU'LL find this email to Dario and Wikidata and Wikicite in the above Google group, as well ...
Hi Dario and All,
Thanks, and per your "My thoughts on why we need a class to describe “(bibliographic) item collections” in @wikidata and @wikicite. Feedback welcome" - https://twitter.com/ ReaderMeter/status/ 934204071870742528 (see reply here - https://twitter.com/ WorldUnivAndSch/status/ 934570933372588032 ) - I wonder how to add a further "VIRTUAL PLACE-BASED" component to this - beyond Wikidata geo-coordinates - since such collections (e.g. in all 8,444 entries in languages per Glottolog eventually, and over all history and pre-history) may become so numerous with time - given Wikimedia's mission of all knowledge - such that organizing such (bibliographic) items in collections within a realistic virtual earth (think Google Streetview/Maps/Earth with TIME SLIDER and group build-able like Minecraft) - e.g. for where an artist made such art works in the 1600s, or for museums that have numerous items of such a collection now, but didn't 100 years' ago ... and even eventually with avatar bots painting these again - may have much merit. (Wiki CC MIT OCW-centric World Univ & Sch is planning ALL Libraries and ALL Museums in each of all 8,444 languages in such a realistic virtual earth with TIME SLIDER).
Thanks,
Scott
