Methinks the ethics of Harbin Hot Springs' re my 'hippies to the hot springs' interpretation in my "Naked Harbin Ethnography" book, and nudity there especially in the pool area, and re their (Harbin Hot Springs / HCC's) observance of California law as far as I've noticed or observed ... will raise some newly possibly fascinating ethics' questions in a realistic virtual Harbin ... The only gray area re Harbin and the law could be in Harbin workshops, as I observed to my friend Ed this spring ... but I'm also not a lawyer either ... and really don't know re Harbin and the law (but may learn further with time) ... (although I did teach a course on anthropology and the law as a graduate student instructor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, many years ago). I also think that Harbin sees itself as independent, but still operates in California, and apparently with a nod to California law ...

And while UUs seem (in UU churches) in my experience to create a culture of care / love (which is tremendous when successful - e.g. I see you, Ma, as a UU example of someone who cares greatly), Heart Consciousness Church (HCC) aka Harbin Hot Springs seems to have created a culture of one's heart's desire (and potentially a much needed balance in the world of churches even - and as an alternative, countercultural-hippy place even ... and also as a fascinating creative emergence from the 1960s/'70s in northern California, potentially because HCC's founder, Ishvara, is still around - since 1972) ...

Inspired by the writings of Theodore Parker the Swedish writer Klas Pontus Arnoldson founded in Gothenburg in 1871 the Unitarian association Sanningssökarna ("The Truth Seekers") – later also found in Stockholm. This association also published the periodical Sanningssökaren ("The Truth Seeker"). Two other Unitarian associations were founded in 1882 (one of them in Stockholm). In 1888 Unitarians asked the Swedish King for permission to establish yet another Unitarian association in Gothenburg but was turned down because Unitarianism was not regarded as a Christian religion. Later many Unitarians turned to theosophy. In 1974 members of The Religion and Culture Association in Malmö founded The Free Church of Sweden and Rev. Ragnar Emilsen would be its pastor (ordained 1987 to Unitarian minister for Sweden and Finland and later the first to become Unitarian bishop of Scandinavia, he died February 2008). In 1999 the church changed its name to The Unitarian Church in Sweden.
