Hi Freedom, Peter, Partha, All

Am waiting a bit longer before I email the WUaS Minutes from MBM on Sat. 6/20/20 to see if a beginning WUaS student Sign-On form in GDocs emerges for WUaS so I can include this in the Minutes - and importantly let people / Universitians / students know. In the minutes, I'd like especially to let our prospective WUaS students know that they can / will be able to sign-on in WUaS GDocs, for courses, beginning September 1, - and that they can take edX courses, and get a WUaS / edX certificate for each course. (Some other reasons for developing WUaS on Sign-On form below, and in previous emails, including planning for students and wiki-Universitians in all ~200 countries, in all 7,117 living languages, and all 7.5 billion people, - all beginning with a basic GDoc spreadsheet potentially for students). Will blog today about some of our communications. Thank you Rifai, Peter, and Partha.

Hi Scott !

I hope the WUaS team is in good health and ready to launch the 6 Bachelor's degree programmes. It is better if we can discuss how Sri Lanka World University and School is going to go forward. I have launched a new domain which will be fully dedicated to this project and customised accordingly.

Let me know your thoughts so that we can setup the site and start enrolling for Autumn 2020. The site can be built in all three languages. You will have to share a how it works document to translate to Sinhala and Tamil. Also check on Open edX and edX Edge by edX. The domain supports Moodle and other LMSs.

Regards,

Rifai

Dear Rifai,

Thank you for your email, and for creating this - http://freeuniversity.rf.gd/ - especially as a kind of prototype.

I've added your creation of 'Sri Lanka World University & School' to the Sri Lanka World University and School wiki - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Sri_Lanka .

I linked it using this citation approach under the "Select Websites" ' section heading:

Sri Lanka World University and School. 2020. [http://freeuniversity.rf.gd/?i=1 Sri Lanka World University and School]. Grenada: freeuniversity.rf.gd.

These section headings may all eventually be translated into countries' main languages with machine learning / machine translation.

Please remember that World Univ & Sch is Google-centric since WUaS is in
Google for Education &
G Suite & re
Google Translate

- and for machine learning, and machine translation.

And please remember too that
worlduniversityandschool.org eventually into worlduniversityandschool.edu is our domain for all 200 countries, and in all 7,117 known living languages.

WUaS seeks to add edX courses to our wiki Academic subject pages (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects) and in all ~200 countries' official / main languages also - & all potentially in an automated way - and from our course catalog - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/  - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VRHhXYsk-V9lvSh5onaU2hnEhwoapSN7HyBK1P09LIk/edit?usp=sharing (in a GDocs spreadsheet) - and regarding our 6 Bachelor degree majors / programmes at WUaS .

Can you work with Google Sites - https://sites.google.com/new (which I've explored a few times in years past eg https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool ) - and develop Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch further in these regards here?

I'll have to think through the .gd domain name for the country of Grenada in the Carribean further in the web site you created.

You may have begun Grenada World Univ & Sch as well ! :)

WUaS is thinking in terms of all ~200 countries, each a free-to-students' major online university in the countries' official / main languages.

Eventually, in terms of enrolling WUaS students, WUaS seeks to go from GDocs' Spreadsheet list of WUaS students relating to - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University (each person something a Wikidata Q-item #, but probably a parallel Wikidata PIN #, since WUaS is already in Wikidata too, in its ~300 languages) - and for all wiki universitians not only in Sri Lanka, but in all ~200 countries and speakers of all 7,117 known living languages (and planning for all 7.5 billion people). Are you familiar with GDocs for all of this?

Let's come into further conversation about this re your "It is better if we can discuss how Sri Lanka World University and School is going to go forward". Thank you - and interesting!

Regards,
Scott

Hi !

I was thinking that you were planning to move away from Google Sites. If that is not the case we can keep freeuniversity.rf.gd parked for the time being, i will remove all references to WUaS, you can remove all links to freeuniversity.rf.gd

I will focus on developing SL WUaS on Google Sites. Share with me the link for the latest one for English. I will translate to Sinhala launching SL WUaS on Google Sites. I might be able to provide some courses in Sinhala soon. This way we can use our existing domains to link to the Google Sites.

I will also share with you a catalog of edX courses to add into Subjects. Yes ! I have been using GDocs you can share the form for enrollment for Autumn 2020. I will start getting some students. You need to tell me the process from enrollment to certificate to inform the students and issue a document authorising Freedom College.

Hi Rifai, Peter and Partha!

Thanks again for your email, Rifai, which I've reposted below - and for saying you're interested in translating some of WUaS in English into the Sinhala language, and that you have some possible students who might be interested in taking WUaS edX courses in English and Sinhala (I think). Peter, would you like to explore translating similarly into German in a WUaS Google Sites' page? Rifai, I've numbered your 3 paragraphs in your email, and am replying to each below.

1
You also lead me to think that Google Sites is again new, and that this, for example, is now more readily editable - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool . Am interested in adding most of this http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ to this WUaS Sites' page - - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - and for translation into the Sinhala language, especially (partly with machine translation). But I'm also appreciative that a single column, rather than 3 columns, would be better for smartphones. And I just saw that it's possible to take an edX course on a smartphone and tablet - https://support.edx.org/hc/en-us/articles/206914817-Can-I-access-edX-courses-on-my-smartphone-or-tablet- .

I've also now removed the Sri Lanka World University and School website with a Grenada domain name you, Rifai, made from - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Sri_Lanka - per your request.

(Are you both on the Wikidata email list - https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata - with Wikidata's ~300 languages? Here's a recent language related email thread - "[Wikidata] Language codes 'mul' and 'mis' not recognized" for example. And here's Sinhala in Wikidata - https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q13267 and the Sinhala language Wikipedia - https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q8571954 - in Wikidata.  WUaS donated ourselves to Wikidata for co-development in 2015, and received this Miraheze WUaS MediaWiki in 2017 as a consequence - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Sinhala_language but back end and front end are not yet interoperable. And Wikidata's ~300 languages along with Google Translate's ~100 languages will inform World Univ & Sch's coding for all 7,117 living languages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Languages - even).

2
I've just updated this WUaS Google Sites' page in English - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  .
Let's work through the linkages with time. For a while not too long ago, I had this - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  - at the top of worlduniversityandschool.org ... but structure and planning for all ~200 countries' universities in their languages in Google Sites will probably be connected with the A) nation states and B) languages' link on both https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool and worlduniversityandschool.org. Looking forward to further students - and potentially from Sri Lanka, first in English, and then also in Sinhala!

I've begun to do update this https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  from http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ so if you'd like to start translating to a Sri Lanka World University and School Google Sites' page on your end (anticipating machine translation on the Google Sites' platform, I think), am looking forward to seeing this.

3
Regarding the

here's
World Univ & Sch's course catalog - in WUaS's 6 majors - and with both CC-4 MIT OCW courses in our majors (leading us to offer free-to-students' degrees) and edX FROM MITx course links -

Am wondering if we should merge these lists. edX, and MIT OCW links, from one or both lists will feed into the WUaS wiki subjects' pages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects - from their respective GDocs.

The WUaS GDocs form for enrollment wasn't working well, and WUaS has removed it from worlduniversityandschool.org

Names of people who signed up were put into a GDocs spreadsheet. And that is the plan going ahead. In building out this new "form for enrollment for Autumn 2020" WUaS needs to make a new one. Could you help with that Rifai, please? Please plan for people in ~200 countries, speakers of 7, 117 known living languages, and all 7.5 billion people per You at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University . WUaS seeks to link it to worlduniversityandschool.org and https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool (and possibly the WUaS Google Sites' page you translate into Sinhala too).

Please remember that in WUaS seeking reimbursement from nation states and possibly their states and 'counties,' WUaS is seeking to matriculate students for 4 year Bachelor degrees, taking something like CC-4 MIT OCW courses, and eventually 'pegging' our WUaS reimbursement per student per year on what tuition is at MIT itself (approximately $55,000 per year at present). So the GDocs' form for matriculating WUaS students you might create, Rifai, will be central to WUaS relating to countries' governments for reimbursement.  Each matricualting WUaS student will likely get a Wikidata PIN # per - You at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - and their will be 7.5 billion of these Wikidata PIN #s! Partha?

Peter, do you want to begin to translate some of this into German, Partha, would your parents be available to translate into Bengali? Rifai - do you know someone to translate into the Tamil language?

I've just updated this WUaS Google Sites' homepage https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  !

Looking forward to seeing your Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch page in Sinhala in WaS Google Sites! (I'll be exploring reading it with a Google Translate extension in my Chrome browser). Thank you, Rifai!

Regards,
Scott

PS Templates are in the works in Wikidata too - and where machine learning and AI will inform InfoBoxes in Wikidata and in the WUaS wiki n ~300 languages!

Hi !

I meant we could offer some readymade courses in Sinhala. Translating a course is not easy. We can start with the translation of the site. I will see how the design can be improved. Am I given access to edit the site or you want me to share the content? Can we get someone from South India for Tamil? I can only speak.

I will keep the domain as it is for now. You can share with me guidelines for the enrollment form. How do we integrate the unique id? The catalog contains only the ORAP courses.

Rifai

Hi Freedom, Peter, Partha,

1
Thanks. Eventually, Sri Lanka WUaS seeks to offer the best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare caliber courses in Sinhala, and hire graduate student instructors to help create these. I noticed in the great edX course catalog you shared combined language-in-country codes (e.g. 'en-us' code for US English), but not one for Sinhala yet. Before I share a page similar to this - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - for you to translate into Sinhala or German (am not sure how to share editing in Google Sites yet, like in GDocs), I'd like to add the 'en-us' code somewhere in the URL for https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool so you could then add the Sinhala in Sri Lanka code. (I hope these codes are anticipating all 7117 living languages).  I'd also like to anticipate using Google Translate, for machine translation, but couldn't yet translate - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - with a browser Translate extension.

So re your "Am I given access to edit the site or you want me to share the content?" I just tried to share a TEST "Share this page" from Google Sites, and it said that I couldn't share with info@nidahasvidyalaya.edu.lk because you don't have a Google account (am not sure about Peter here). What are your Google account emails? (I could use livestream@worlduniversityandschool.org for you Peter, since we share the password and it's a Google acct). Let's focus on Sinhala and German, in addition to English for translation testing within Google Sites here, for the time being re Tamil.

2
Sounds good. Perhaps we can communicate further with edX for structuring an enrollment form. (How did you obtain the great edX list of courses?). Re a unique ID, let's begin with a simple GDoc spreadsheet for our current prospective students. (And I'll get in touch with Lydia and Markus re a hypothetical Wikidata PIN # related to a Wikidata Q-item #, in Wikidata's ~300 languages). How best to integrate, too, the ORAP (Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships) courses from edX (good to know re licensing) with the WUaS course catalog? Keep the edX course headings, and the WUaS headings and majors. The edX courses are also VIEW ONLY, so not yet workable.

What's a gmail address for you, Rifai, so I can further explore sharing WUaS - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - in Google Sites for you to translate into Sinhala?

Regards, Scott

Rifai, (Peter, Partha),

Shall I at WUaS provide you with a Google accounts' email, something like freedomcollegeSL@worlduniversityandschool.org ? This could make it easier for you to develop Sri Lanka WUaS in Sinhala from within Google Sites. If so, what user name might you prefer to use? (I'll plan to use livestream@worlduniversityandschool.org for you, Peter, unless  you suggest a different Google email address).

Regarding the Wikidata PIN # and getting in touch with Lydia and Markus re a hypothetical Wikidata PIN # related to a Wikidata Q-item #, in Wikidata's ~300 languages, WUaS also seeks to be in communication with WikiTree in these regards (am thinking 7.5 billion people, each a unique ID), and for genetics too!

Hi !

I am planning to start translating content to Sinhala in the upcoming months. If I could get some support from some graduates it would be great. No Sinhala courses in edX or any major platform yet.

Create a new page. Try copy & paste using Google Translate. Need to edit to have a sensible page. I have got nidahasvidyalaya@gmail.com and I could try to translate only the first page to Tamil using Google Translate. If you are giving me an email account I suggest srilanka@ worlduniversityandschool.org which is inline with Sri Lanka World University & School

If you switch to edX edge or Open edX you don't need a form as it is inbuilt into the platform. I got the list from edX ORAP. I gave out nearly 5000 edX coupons for free. I can give some coupons. You can enroll for free for the verified certificate programmes and get full access. Let me know how many you need. These are set to expire this month.

Rifai

Hi Freedom,

Thanks again for your email. Here's your new email address - SriLanka@worlduniversityandschool.org  (temporary password:  =3H9aaCa  - M. Rifai,  info@nidahasvidyalaya.edu.lk, is the information I used to create this Google for Education / G Suite email address):

This user can start using G Suite
M Rifai

Re machine translation and Sinhala language - I've been using Google Translate extension in Chrome browser to translate many foreign language newspapers into English. It's good and getting better. Here's a Sri Lanka Sinhala example - https://divaina.com/daily/index.php - going the other way, - try Google Translate into English. I'd like to build in Google Translate to WUaS Google Sites -  https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - into Sinhala and German, for exmaple, and wonder when even Google might help do this. Sinhala speaking WUaS matriculating students (in English) in Sri Lanka may be able to help.

WUaS seeks to build our own WUaS sign-on form for WUaS matriculating students, beginning with GDocs - and in anticipating machine learning and machine translation in multilingual World University and School. And WUaS seeks further to facilitate WUaS students taking edX courses for free, as they study toward their 4-year free-to-students' Bachelor degrees. And WUaS seeks also to get a certificate from edX that students have completed a edX free course at WUaS (which would apply toward their 4-year WUaS licensing / accrediting online best STEM CC-4 OCW-centric Bachelor degrees). This WUaS GDoc student sign-on form would also be for WUaS to seek reimbursement from nation states, per student per year, potentially.

WUaS is also seeking to further add relevant-for-WUaS-students' edX courses for course-credit to our WUaS Course Catalog - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VRHhXYsk-V9lvSh5onaU2hnEhwoapSN7HyBK1P09LIk/edit?usp=sharing ... any thoughts how to 'unlock' the edX catalog you shared - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10huGunGcPQQpsoJicL8ZDUrBaOKxtA5ODgOPKfsYokM/edit?ts=5e98ba6d#gid=48622087 ? (What an amazing list of edX courses!) WUaS would seek to add all these courses, and some of the headings in the spreadsheet too, to our WUaS course catalog for matriculating students this autumn.

What Sri Lanka students might you add to the WUaS Sign-On form, and who might be interested in a free-to-students' best STEM CC-4 OCW-centric edX courses' 4-year Bachelor degrees in English? Do you think you might find 100 high achieving Sri Lanka 18 year olds interested in this online College - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School? This would begin potentially September 1st. Thanks again, Rifai!

Agenda and News for Sat June 30, 2020
World University and School
Monthly Business Meeting

1
Best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centric wiki World University and School is coming along, and WUaS is seeking to matriculate our second online undergraduate Bachelor's degree class this autumn - potentially in collaboration with edX, so with courses on the edX platform; see The College at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School (with these 6 majors - 1) EECS, 2) General Science, 3) General Engineering, 4) English, 5) History, 6) Business - see: http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - for free-to-students' best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centric Bachelor degrees.

Like with edX courses, WUaS students would initially simply sign up for their courses on something like the edX platform, in part. (You at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - will eventually be part of this WUaS sign in process). Students will potentially matriculate online from all ~200 countries in the world, first in English.

World Univ & Sch is also seeking to develop a major university library for undergraduates, first in English, for the above - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Library_Resources

2
How to develop a functioning WUaS / WUaS Corp Board, and especially now that WUaS is 'officially' carrying Lego Robotics, but is not yet a reseller - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html - and thus further define the relationships between WUaS's 2 wings, or legal entities: 1) non-profit 501 c 3 World University and School, also a non-profit legal entity in California, and 2) the WUaS Corporation / Press, a for-profit general stock company legal entity in California? A NomGov Board member? Board Meetings online in the coronavirus pandemic newly? Create with workshops, and graduates, a pool of experienced and smart Board members from which to grow this?

This will unfold significantly on the WUaS web platforms - with AI and machine learning (potentially with the Google / Alphabet platform).

Websites' updates:

The WUaS Corporation, as a legal entity, is a for-profit general stock company in California, and planning to go public. See licensing for the WUaS Corp / Press for-profit here - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html

And World Univ & Sch is a non-profit 501 c 3, and in CA too, and you'll find its Board members here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Foundation ; see licensing at bottom of non-profit - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ too). Together, these 2 legal entities, and wings of WUaS, offer enormous educational growth potential - and are both planned in all ~200 countries' and their official / main languages for free-to-students' best STEM CC-4 OCW-centric accrediting degrees, as well as in wiki schools in all 7,117 known living languages for open teaching and learning.

Languages - World Univ: https://twitter.com/sgkmacleod/

Thoughts, suggestions, ideas, questions? Board members of Silicon Valley's largest companies  - the SV 150, for ex. - are reimbursed handsomely (at around $300,000 per year, I learned in the Stanford Law SVDX meeting 3-4 years ago).

3
Board invitation -

I think the Stanford Law SVDX webinar is open - and its focus is Board Members actually. All of the above would be in the WUaS Corp legal entity in all likelihood.

Sincerely, Scott

4
Realistic Virtual Earth -

World Univ & Sch is seeking to facilitate too a realistic virtual earth for everything - e.g. for robotics - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForRobotics?src=hashtag_click (https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarth?src=hashtag_click including especially a realistic virtual Harbin https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualHarbin?src=hashtag_click) for academic, STEM, social science, humanities and arts' areas +,  - and has updated our universities & schools' home pages with some of these

- in something like Google Street View with time slider, Maps, Earth, TensorFlow and even with avatar bots for species and individuals (and at the cellular and atomic levels too).

A realistic virtual earth for Lego into Google Poly ?
A realistic virtual earth for Lego ... from Lego Duplo bricks into Google Poly - https://twitter.com/WUaSPress/status/1270092710070726656?s=20
- and the creative computing projects you (Leanna Prater) shared - see, too https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/flowering-silversword-lego-education.html -  into Lego machine learning with the Lego WeDo 2.0 special Lego Robotics' kit (maybe with 2 smart hubs, etc) and in Google Research Football etc. - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/02/flying-and-gliding-animals-this-is-next.html - are a lot of virtual world dots to connect, but would open up vast learning horizons (in so many countries and languages even, and re World Univ & Sch).

5
WUaS Home Robotics

WUaS Home Robotics seeks to facilitate online courses with Lego Robotics' kits sent to students in their homes, potentially in all ~200 countries, and in building a best STEM CC-4 OCW-centric WUaS curriculum for Lego Robotics for WUaS College level engineering majors, potentially taking courses on the edX platform in addition to the this best STEM CC-4 OCW Lego resource -https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/experimental-study-group/es-293-lego-robotics-spring-2007/ - as well as curriculum for something like IB high school science majors. This would include Creative Computing approaches to this with Scratch programming - https://twitter.com/hashtag/CreativeComputing?src=hashtag_click - since Lego Robotics is programmable with the Scratch language. Since Scratch is multi-lingual, WUaS seeks to develop this in WUaS major online universities in all ~200 countries' official languages! (See, too,
Creative Computing assessment -  https://twitter.com/ScratchEdTeam/status/1272864023562850304?s=20- https://twitter.com/ScratchEdTeam/status/1266747453509902337?s=20 ).

Machine learning with Lego and Google Research Football too -

World Univ & Sch is also seeking to facilitate brainwave headset research (and related brain research), and potentially in a realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualHarbin?src=hashtag_click - into a single realistic virtual earth for brain research and even regarding genes - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForGenetics?src=hashtag_click - (in Google Street View with time slider, TensorFlow and at the cellular and atomic levels too ... and potentially also with a Film-To-3D application at these scales) ... https://www.ninds.nih.gov/Disorders/Patient-Caregiver-Education/Genes-Work-Brain. Headbands packed with sensors learning both about the brain, as well as streaming data into simulations, as we learn further how to study the brain and mind. Andrew Junker is inventor of Brainfingers.com in these regards, for example, but Armagan Amcalar - https://twitter.com/dashersw - has also developed a brainwave headset with at least 24 sensors in the head set, with software codable with python, and with a language computer screen interface. (What about bathing cap textile brainwave headsets?). See too - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Brain , Will matriculating WUaS students be doing neuroresearch from home, learning from and building on https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/brain-and-cognitive-sciences/ ? :)

Wiki (editable and thus teachable too) pages at World University and Schools -

World Univ & Sch received this inquiry recently:

Artur:
"At Career Karma we are passionate about helping people switch careers from non-tech fields to tech jobs to acquire new skills and obtain higher salaries. I think this is especially relevant during COVID-19 when thousands lost their jobs.

We have plenty of great article ideas so I was wondering if we can submit a high-quality blog post to be featured on your blog?" ...

"So we should make a wiki page, right?

Can we get a do-follow backlink from this future page?"

WUaS:
For one, World Univ & Sch is a wiki, like Wikipedia, (for open teaching and learning, but free, and high quality - and potentially advertising-free), so you could potentially teach something in a blog post and add it here, for example - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Career_counseling (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects). Want to give it a go? (You can cite it the way you find other resources cited in this article).

Want to riff further with some of this (eg do you know people who know WUaS Miraheze MediaWiki and Wikidata, for example?), or with the ideas for these emerging school wikis, send me another email.

Artur:
"So we should make a wiki page, right?
Can we get a do-follow backlink from this future page?"

- and re Artur's "Pitch: Let's Collaborate on Content."

WUaS:
World Univ & Sch seeks for all of our wiki pages to be informed by templates - and to be informative (i.e. excellent teaching and learning oriented, and not advertising). (And to work with our WUaS students, wiki Universitians, and end users - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University (as an example of a front end wiki page) - such as yourself, WUaS is planning brainstorming-wise for all 7.5 billion people on the planet, potentially with a Wikidata PIN #, like a Wikidata Q-item # but different). I think one (of a few) Template(s) already exists, but may be managed by Wikidata (Lydia Pintscher and Markus Kroetzsch and other Wikidatans), since our WUaS CC-4 licensing now appears on every one of the current 725 wiki pages.

Am learning further about 'do-follow' backlinks:

Further, wiki World Univ & Sch seeks potentially to integrate with WikiTree - https://www.wikitree.com/ - with its goal of a single family tree (presumably for all 7.5 billion people) and especially regarding DNA and genetic data at https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University.

wiki @WorldUnivAndSch seeks potentially to integrate with #WikiTree https://www.wikitree.com with its goal of a single family tree (for all 7.5 billion people) & esp regarding DNA/genetic data at https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/genes
#RealisticVirtualEarthforGenetics -

In creating Wiki pages at WUaS, such as the one you're thinking of, please remember that such pages' section headings, for example, may be translated into Wikidata's ~300 languages, and eventually into 7,117 known living languages as wiki schools for open teaching and learning. Native speakers of all 7117 living languages will become wiki Universitians - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - all teaching and learning with each other in their languages, and potentially re sharing genetic information too. This may also interface with an eventual small gene sequencer - https://twitter.com/geochurch/status/1199669550528258048?s=20 (per Harvard / MIT professor of genetics, George Church) - on our smartphones even.

Cheers, Scott

Online WUaS Universities in other countries, - an example (and in all African countries' main / official languages, and in all ~200 countries, and in their official / main languages):

As an example, future World University and Schools in individual countries and their official languages will emerge like Jordan World Univ & Sch:
Jordan World University and School will emerge from here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Jordan (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States) - in Arabic - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Arabic_language - but first The College at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School (first will be in English) - accessible with applications/registration/signing in, eventually, and for wiki schools - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - too.

And students will study edX courses in part for free-to-students' Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, M.D. and I.B. high school degrees online.

As you probably know, not only has the big free-to-students' educational project I'm developing not become financially operational yet (and WUaS became a non-profit in 2010, and a parallel for-profit in 2017) - so WUaS is very impoverished, but WUaS has posted every time on our open WUaS Monthly Business Meeting Agenda & News as well as Minutes the following:

"World University and School is sending you this because of your interest in free, online, higher education. If you don't want to receive these, please reply with 'unsubscribe' in the body of the email, leaving the subject line intact. Thank you."
And a number of WUaS Universitians have asked to be unsubscribed, for example; I'm an appreciator of individual choice in these matters, especially when they could be interested in getting information about such a project / product, and even benefit from it significantly too (like an online free-to-students' California Law School at WUaS, which Reed College graduates could also matriculate at and graduate from, - and help create innovations-wise).

Also, WUaS is planning to code for matriculating students in all ~200 countries' official languages, native speakers in all 7,117 known living languages as WUaS wiki teachers and learners, and then for all 7.5 billion people on the planet - potentially for UBI experiments (in ~200 countries' languages, which our WUaS Law School would teach to) too, and significantly to potentially alleviate poverty, The Coronavirus tracing app, which Germans downloaded 6.5 million times in its 1st 24 hours - https://twitter.com/StanfordCDH/status/1273342209371197440?s=20 - may become a precursor to this. (WUaS, brainstorming-wise, is planning to code for 7.5 billion people for these 5 reasons - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/12/wild-pomegranate-burchellia-bubalina.html - and entrepreneurially too) ... so a listserv wouldn't work well re planning for matriculating students in all ~200 countries' languages, and speakers of all 7,117 and wiki Universitians.

Here are some brainstorming emails today and yesterday to mostly good Reedie friends from the first half of the 1980s - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/yellow-star-thistle-scott-macleod.html - ending with the email I included you on (re WUaS's 2 wings), and to the Reed Legal Network participants recently + - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/woodland-gilias-saltugilia-splendens.html -
and re my letting my Reedie friends know about this upcoming 'Reedpreneurs in the Pandemic Era' meeting. Thanks again.

Agenda and News for June 30, 2020 WUaS Corporation Board Meeting

WUaS Corporation / WUaS Press

A
WUaS Press / Corp is now carrying Lego Robotics!

WUaS is 'officially' carrying Lego Robotics, but not yet a reseller  - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html

B
WUaS Educational Services' Store - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html - is newly grown, and is now carrying 7 products for sale (3 Lego Robotics' kits, and 4 books published by the Academic Press at World Univ & Sch).

C
UBI experiments with regards to WUaS, and in planning for universities in ~200 countries and their official languages, with law faculty and students:

Just asked these questions, as I registered for this Stanford Law SVDX webinar on Tu June 9, 2020 - https://www.svdx.org/calendar/2020/6/9/esg-resiliency-in-a-time-of-turmoil-webinar

"Brainstorming-wise, what role could UBI experiments in all ~200 countries and their main languages, in order to distribute a single cryptocurrency (with block chain ledger), facilitate further ESG - Environmental, Social and Governance - goals, (and even conceptually regarding all 7.5 billion people, re universal, to alleviate poverty)? What if a hypothetical "Mine Pi" cryptocurrency (coded by Stanford students), or a "Bitcoin" could even be listed, by a company with its Board, on the emerging Silicon Valley long term stock exchange (which has passed one SEC hurdle, I've read) - and, for example, to address the 40 million unemployment claims in the US due to the novel coronavirus pandemic? Thank you, Scott (sgkmacleod@worlduniversityandschool.org)"

And further: Each person in the world, all 7.5 billion people, a WUaS Wikidata PIN# (nee Wikidata Q-item #), beginning with matriculating WUaS students in all ~200 countries' official languages, and then speakers of all 7,117 known living languages as wiki teachers and learners at WUaS - since WUaS donated ourselves to Wikidata for co-development, and got the front end WUaS Miraheze MediaWiki in 2017 as a consequence? For ex. - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University .

... and backed somehow by some number of ~200 countries' central banks (post Euro in 19 out of 28 countries, and post dollar as de facto international currency)? This could be because WUaS Law Schools in all ~200 countries' official languages help code for this, and our WUaS Law Faculty teach this too - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Law_School

D
The WUaS Press is seeking to publish a second actual-virtual, physical-virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ethnographic book, potentially publishing it to paper from within Google Street View, with text in the sidebar. See, for example: https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/12/leaf-re-conceiving-book-printable-on.html.

See, the side bar in Google Street View here, in visiting the Harbin Hot Springs' gate

E
WUaS Press -

To the editor, Rami Daher (Architect and Professor), of a tourism studies' book in which I have a chapter, but which is not yet for sale in the WUaS Press:

"I hope my thesis of Orientalism in online UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the chapter I wrote has been an asset for your edited volume" - https://www.amazon.com/Rami-Farouk-Daher-dp-1845410505/dp/1845410505).

With very best wishes, Scott

Sincerely, Scott

Hi !

Thanks for the id. I will look into it. Sinhala translation is not accurate yet, so some manual editing is required. I will work on Google Forms in English, Sinhala & Tamil. You will have to discuss with edX on building specialised programmes to do so. Most of the courses have been removed from ORAP so my coupons cannot be used to unlock now. The students could still audit them free.

Let's start calling in applications for September starting from July. We can filter students based on the applications. Once the form is ready we can inform the students. There are some courses in Wikiversity that can be used. Also you can look into crowd funding platforms to raise funds to sustain this initiative.

Regards,

Rifai

Rifai, and All,

I'll try sharing - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - from within WUaS Google Sites again (and https://sites.google.com/new).

In response to your 2 paragraphs (below):
1
You're welcome, and sounds good.
As you can see in the WUaS Course Catalog - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VRHhXYsk-V9lvSh5onaU2hnEhwoapSN7HyBK1P09LIk/edit?usp=sharing (http://worlduniversityandschool.org/) - WUaS lists MIT OCW courses in our 6 majors, a few edX courses relating directly to these MIT OCW courses (and emerging from MIT OCW into MITx / edX - which is WUaS's focus). WUaS would enter whatever courses we can from the ORAP edX Course list you shared to the WUaS Course Catalog, and students would sign up for these courses, and even with our WUaS course numbers (potentially) - so from from one GDoc spreadsheet (WUaS course catalog) to another GDoc spreadsheet (You at WUaS - for Sign-Ups) via forms.  There are approx. 2,400 CC-4 MIT OCW in English, and eventually WUaS may adapt them for independent study with AI. WUaS seeks perhaps to OFFER more initial structure to students than CC-4 MIT OCW courses by offering edX courses to first year students (such as from the edX catalog you shared -

2
WUaS seeks to make our online degrees as open as possible INITIALLY - just as students would sign in to an edX course for free - but WUaS is also seeking students to apply for 4-year free-to-students' online Bachelor degrees (so possibly no INITIAL filtering process). Larry and I talked about this in WUaS Monthly Business Meeting recently, and I'll Minute this soon. Perhaps students will sign in to an edX course at WUaS as a way of matriculating at WUaS, on an exploratory basis. This is to encourage students to study, learn - and to seek online free-to-students' 4-year Bachelor (licensing & re accreditation) degrees. WUaS would like to build this into our July WUaS sign-on form in GDocs (worlduniversityandschool.org). SO THERE MAY BE INTEGRATION WITH edX in creating this form (and re WUaS reimbursement from nation states, and even re UBI experiments - Universal Basic Income - in the 'You at WUaS' GDocs' sign-in form). Thank you.

Regards, Scott

PS
Again, can you work with Google Sites - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - and explore developing Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch in the Sinhala language further in these regards here, and after I invite you (and hopefully with Google Translate built-in which would then be tweaked)?

Hi Rifai, All!

Please keep in mind too, in creating the WUaS GDocs' sign in form, WikiTree integration also - for 7.5 billion people eventually (and their genetics too), and even avatar bot electronic medical records in the online WUaS Medical Schools with online teaching hospitals - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Hospital - Med Schools - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Medical_School - You at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University.

Each matriculating WUaS student a Wikidata PIN # with time ... and planning for wiki and matriculating WUaS students in  ~200 countries, in ~7000 languages and all 7.5 billion people.

Thanks and Regards, Scott

Hi Rifai,

Also re You at WUaS GDocs' student sign on form- each a Wikidata PIN # - and re both reimbursement from countries, as well as UBI experiments to distribute a single cryptocurrency in most of all ~200 countries (post Euro currency in 19/28 nation states, and post US dollar$, a de facto international currency), it's the edX money transfer mechanism WUaS seeks to build out of, and for all 7.5 billion people, and partly thanks to Anant Agarwal as CEO of edX (https://twitter.com/agarwaledu), and MIT DCE Digital Currency Initiative director. Neha Narula (https://twitter.com/neha).

In these regards, this event is happening in just 1 hour and 20 minutes, but the sign-in form is impossible and doesn't work -

Hi !

That's good. Noted on application. How about assessment, proctoring and certificate? Once you share I can start translating.

Regards,

Rifai

Hi Rifai, Peter, Partha, (and Marisol, Quechua language teacher at Stanford),

I just shared this World Univ & Sch homepage in Google Sites - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool (with an invitation message below) - for you to texplore translating into the Sinhala and Tamil languages (but I also sent it to myself at sgkmacleod@w ... .org , and haven't received an email notice).

Rifai, focusing on Sinhala and Tamil languages will help too with WUaS maritime law - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Maritime_Law (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Law_School s - see links to other countries' law schools half way down) - and regarding the Palk Strait between Sri Lanka and India -
and in both the Law School at Sri Lanka WUaS (in Sinhala), and the Tamil language Law School at India WUaS, for example.

Rifai, re your "How about assessment, proctoring and certificate?" - am hoping this will come out further of a kind of conversation between edX in Massachusetts, and the state of California's BPPE for licensing, and concurrently WASC for accreditation too. Perhaps edX will be able to offer the equivalent of assessment, proctoring and on WUaS edX certificates.

Please let me know if you got the invitation I just shared from - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool . Am not clear from Google Sites' "Share with others" which I just invited you from, that you'll be able to edit or translate this page, or what. (And it would be great if you could do so from within the WUaS Google Drive too). Thank you.

Regards,
Scott

Hi Rifai (in Sri Lanka), Peter, Partha, and Marisol,

I'm sharing this World Univ & Sch home page in Google Sites for you, Rifai, to explore translating into the Sinhala and Tamil languages. (I'm sending to mostly Google email accounts). Regards, Scott (worlduniversityandschool.org)

Hi !

I received a notice and started the translation. I have to review and edit manually as some sentences are gibberish. Also some words like credit had to be changed as Google thinks someone is trying to get a loan ;) Will gradually move into course translation.

https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool/srilanka

We will have to work out something if we are to launch a degree in September. We could use the quizzes in edX courses to assess. Certificate can also be issued using Word etc.

We might have to monitor the students online via a combination of webcam, ID verification & screen sharing to prevent impersonation as someone paid to do so could follow the degree under a students name.

Regards,

Rifai

So beautiful, and what a beautiful script too! I want to write English on the computer in a new rounded way!

And amazing - a new Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch in Sinhala in Google Sites (and Google Translate friendly), and designed / accessible from a smartphone even -

https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool/srilanka

A good 'naming' model too for all ~200 countries - first in English, but then perhaps named in the countries' official / mian languages? Something like - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool/ශ්රී ලංකාව - or even all in Sinhala? Are Google Sites' URLs all in Sinhala at this point?

I received this invitation to translate at worlduniversityandschool@gmail.com's main parent address (which I had also sent to myself), although I think I only sent it to sgkmacleod@worlduni ...org (for learning about the structure of WUaS in Google Suite for Education).

Rifai, have you taken an edX course? I've only taken this single (HarvardX JuryX) edX law course in 2016, taught by Harvard Law Emeritus Professor Charlie Nesson - and if I recall correctly it's pretty well structured IT-wise for accreditation / licensing regarding proctoring etc. (The edX JuryX archived course link here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2015/03/volcano-rabbit-3-new-law-schools-at.html - and much more).

Also regarding translation and edX, this is the idea in the big picture: taking potentially edX courses (from best STEM CC-4 OCW courses - https://ocw.mit.edu/ - into - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mitx-related-courseware/) on the edX platform ( which I blogged about yesterday re an email to a Reed College alumna (of which I am also, and which can be an interesting network) working as Admissions' officer in north India at the Woodstock school - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/scarlet-milkweed-asclepias-curassavica.html - which also just became IB). Re course standards in edX, am hoping WUaS can learn from these 3 OCW languages - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/ .

Am hoping too the way will open to communicate more directly with edX and Anant Agarwal regarding all of this in due course. Seeking to offer English-speaking Sri Lankans this autumn free-to-students' online Bachelor degrees (so please don't worry too much about translation in Sinhala). And you mentioned in a previous email that you think you might be able to find WUaS students? In ballpark terms, how many might be interested in a 4 year free online Bachelor's degree in English?

Thank you, Rifai, and so great!

WUaS Cheers, Scott
So this doesn't disappear: :)
