Hi M,

Maybe science can take advantage of this virus and genetic research opportunity to also develop a cure for the common cold, and so many other viruses, and genetic diseases (of which aging is being construed as well - to produce aging reversal genetic therapies!)

How are you and what are you up to for this weekend?
As I wrote to my friend, LC, in the state of Washington yesterday:

"Am really missing here a sense of community or camaraderie in Canyon, although it's beautiful. Meet a life partner and head back to P. for raising a family with community?
...
Ongoing seeking of life partner here and to begin a family. Might stay out here in Canyon after Harbin opens both to visit, and to write a second actual-virtual, physical-digital Harbin ethnography, possibly publishing it to paper from within Google Street View (text in the sidebar)! "

Good to participate in a Shady Side Academy equity listening video conference yesterday; it seemed to involve much Quaker process re the listening aspect. And good too to feel a little further more of a sense of community in Pittsburgh in these regards than out here.

Interesting that per Stanford Tweet, 65000 downloads of corona tracing app in Germany occurred yesterday (see below), and per a MIT tweet that Norway stops using it due to low # of infections (see below too). I hypothesize in an ongoing way that coronavirus is much much more 'meme' (replicating culture unit) than 'gene' but will be glad if humans make progress with regard to viral genetic and other genetic diseases.

(I somehow wasn't able to send this to you yesterday from my gmail account re these innovative emails to you - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/yellow-star-thistle-scott-macleod.html - so am posting this here).

Hello Reedie friends (from the early '80s), Yoga friends, friends, All,

Photos here again (how does Google Photos pop up photos when they do?):  Reed & Oregon travels~ a: https://photos.app.goo.gl/dqEm9Y97JTifGzM99 #ReedCollege's canyon in 2013, #bagpiping, tie die, where I lived 1st semester in 1979 in previous building, Sisson & b: 1st communal house moved in in Jan 1980, & 2nd hippy #ReedHouse, People's Food Coop https://photos.app.goo.gl/jamdTfgcVzncB3dd9 ~

Am seeking also (at World Univ & Sch) to facilitate brainwave headset research (and related brain research), and potentially in a realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualHarbin?src=hashtag_click - into a single realistic virtual earth for brain research and even regarding genes - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForGenetics?src=hashtag_click - (am thinking further Google Street View with time slider, TensorFlow and at the cellular and atomic levels too ... and potentially also with a Film-To-3D application at these scales) ... https://www.ninds.nih.gov/Disorders/Patient-Caregiver-Education/Genes-Work-Brain. Headbands packed with sensors learning both about the brain, as well as streaming data into simulations, as we learn further how to study the brain and mind. Andrew Junker in this email is inventor of Brainfingers.com in these regards, for example, but Armagan Amcalar https://twitter.com/dashersw has also developed a brainwave headset with at least 24 sensors in the head set, with software codable with python, and with a language computer screen interface. Will likely blog about this tomorrow - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Brain; Will matriculating students be doing neuro-research from home, learning from and building on https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/brain-and-cognitive-sciences/ ? :)

Photos and much more again here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/yellow-star-thistle-scott-macleod.html

DACHfest 2018 - console.log(brain) — Armagan Amcalar

https://youtu.be/sCkQ_gvmZZI

This talk is a demonstration of an open-source Brain-Computer Interface that is completely developed with JavaScript, from the ground up, using neural networks and signal processing. Armagan hits the stage with a wireless EEG headset, shows how to read signals from the brain in JavaScript using native C++ Node.js modules over USB, and the implementation in Electron, Node.js and Vue.js.
