Thank you very much for your message regarding my talk at the University of Chicago. 

The concept of a "realistic virtual earth" is intriguing since we love and care about the real earth. 
When a human being has to leave the earth and solar system due to the sun's explosion at its end of life, we may need to prepare for the realistic virtual earth to educate our descendants. ;-)

Glad Ed spent time with his family, 'blood,' over the weekend - who is his last surviving aunt, and older relative on his father's side, ... Good to hear from you. Yes, glad to be in a (possibly temporary) safe house just north of Berkeley, away from the mentally ill former owner and his unwell daughter, landlady toward end, in Canyon. (I called the Moraga police twice over the summer to make 3 official reports if illegal beak ins, entries, thefts (which could even lead officially to involving federal authorities). New landlord, landlady are Indian / Gujurati, from Tanzania, Africa, in their early 80s, and who had at the end of career a 7000 sq ft import export shop at corner of Ashby and San Pablo. Enjoying living / being just north of Berkeley, but World Univ & Sch's addresses are still in Canyon, ... If sick landlord moved into secure nursing home, or prison, or bought a house in Watsonville, for ex. And his daughter and new husband moved to a nice house near their college, where they teach, I could see moving back in there ... If Canyon as a whole was somehow getting 'cleaned up' ... Am on Arlington in El Cerrito for awhile longer.

So very nice that you called, Pin, last night! Thank you! I was just walking on my longest walk ever from my new home (a 'safe' house even, I'm calling this) north of Berkeley ... and 1.8 miles up to the closed (due to the Covid-19 pandemic) Unitarian Universalist Church of Kensington (Berkeley), and 1.8 miles back ... a de-stressor walk, and wellness walk, as well. I don't think I've ever been in this Church or met any of its community (but I was singing in UU Church of Palo Alto choir for a semester or two a year or 2 ago, when I was visiting Stanford almost daily).


I wonder about the transcendentalist tradition of Unitarians (writ personal) - and as a de-stressor - and appreciate sitting meditating daily, on the biological side of this (that I call the relaxation response re its biology - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2008/09/arc-steps-to-elicit-relaxation-response.html - or rename an inner releasing action), and which relaxation response I find happens naturally both in unprogrammed tradition of Quaker Silent Meetings  (in the manner of Friends), and in the Harbin Hot Springs' warm pool, which I explore here too in these Hippy Anjali Yoga Notations - http://www.scottmacleod.com/yoganotations.html - but not yet in a realistic virtual Harbin from one's bathtub, for the releasing action on one's bodymind neurophysiology of the warm water.
