Hmmm ... internet for laptop went off after emailing you with this email, and after emailing the following (to Peter Koehler and the BayAreaJamTisch folks), which is the beginnings of teaching my "Society and information technology and the global university' course, in English and German (thanks to Google Translate) and by which I'll learn German further, and which course is very generative idea-wise for me ... I find revisiting teaching it to be inspiring (and thanks to Google Meet video conference recording, I can record these talks in a different way) ...

Thank you for expressing interest in the Google for Education Pilot Program! The goal of this program is to provide K12 and Higher Ed institutions and organizations early access to products and features across various Google tools to help inform the future of Google's products. Our academic partners play an important role in the development cycle of products and features by providing feedback that directly shape and improve our tools. 


What are we looking for?

  • Academic institutions that utilize Google Workspace tools. (Companies and Service providers are not eligible). 

  • Access to Educators across different institutions, grade levels, and areas of expertise that are passionate about piloting new features and willing to share their stories, best practices and feedback with Google.


If your institution is interested in joining the program, please have your Google Workspace  Administrator complete this sign-up form. To determine If you are the Google Workspace Administrator, you should have access to admin.google.com console.  If you do not, please forward this invitation to the individual who can apply on your organization's behalf.

Greetings. This just came through from Google Education, after attending a 2 day conference yesterday and the day before. After a talk yesterday, I had some concerns about WUaS not having money, and this video link to the talk is here - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/11/cells-in-body.html - which speakers itemize all kinds of costs (if WUaS was working with the state of CA even???).

But this Google Education pilot program looks to be still free, and due to WUaS being in Google Workspace for Education ... and a potential further way in.

Thoughts, questions, suggestions, ideas? Their FAQs seem sensible.

I think I'm concerned that fees will begin to come (and having heard yesterday's talk) ... via this path, when WUaS doesn't have any students, so I wonder whether it is best to wait for a different entry into WUaS Google Workspace for Education - and with WUaS matriculating students.

On the other hand, this could be a good way to grow, and who knows, but even find somehow students through Google Workspace for Education, since Google engages so so many people, and its AI machine learning IN MANY languages could be focused on this. Perhaps state of California developments will lead to reimbursement from departments of Education in CA counties and from all 200 countries ... And WUaS being able then to reimburse you, me and them.
