Amazing cloud hovering just over the SF Bay this morning, with only Mount Tamalpais visible, and the top of the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Sutro Towers above Twin Peaks in SF (where I enacted MacBeth Act V, Scene V with Marc Dupuis and Dorota Ploch in 1999, and near where I lived on upper 3632 Market St then too ... took brief video -

Been working hard seeking to shut down some illegal sex rings in the SF Bay Area, part of the international illegal sex industry even - speculatively - and if the state of CAlifornia can get its act together further (with dwindling coronavirus non-epidemic pandemic memes - replicating cultural units - still circulating), and . . .  possibly some social justice will have been achieved, and potentially prevention of more of the same possibly multiple tragedies, into the future. But infamies abounding potentially,  . . .  is infamous,  or others in Canyon too, it is also an 'in-family' - and may abound too in 'in-fam-ie-s' ... and an old community, and while I've stayed out of it significantly, and there are lots of independent-minded, possibly hard-scrabble, stay at home libertarians individuals in Canyon ... and I don't think I'll have to deal too much with the 'infamies' there, were I to move back in ...  I'm still concerned about the in-family-ness there, since I haven't been in this 'family' and don't want to be in-family either (and am a bit isolated in my thinking and writing too over in this 'safe house' north of Berkeley ... ) ... so I wonder how best to continue to call for abolition in some of these regards!  So questions continue to rise to mind about moving into Canyon and how things would develop there, if I somehow were to, if way were to open, for example.

Am wondering if World Univ & Sch could develop a realistic virtual earth for genetics out of Canyon for those 6 species too, whether we'd be able to create such hybrids ... eg putting Drosophila wings on bees, and bee wings on Drosophila flies ... for further cultural innovation, but lack of familiarity ... and all regarding a WUaS Longevity Genetics' Institute regarding humans living to more than 123 years old potentially :) Could Stanford help with staffing such a research institute in Canyon somehow, and regarding safety questions too ? :)

Really, really nice to talk last night, Ma, and thanks for talking so much. :)

While we talked about many things (in new ways in my experience of your language-use and thinking), I wanted to find out more what Lacan MD, and George Alexander MD too, intended - symbolically I'd think - with the Borromean knot, and possibly the Gordian knot, both of which knots George and I talked about years ago (and possibly when I was living in Canyon 94516 on the phone, but I think before that). The 'Gordian' knot does have word-parallels with my and Dad's names too! 

Lacan at times had a focus on mathematics and regarding the Lacanian psychoanalytic thinking he was talking about too.


And I can see these two knots as symbolic of family interconnections, and inter-subjectivities, among nuclear family members, for example.

From the Lacan article in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (and both Lacan and George were philosophical, quite, and smart): 
"By the 1970s, with his meditations on the topological figure of the Borromean knot—this knotting of three rings, pictured on the coat of arms of the Borromeo family, is arranged such that if one ring is broken, all three are set free in disconnection—Lacan emphasizes the mutual dependence of the registers on one another."

And while I don't know if Lacan explored psychoanalytic thinking regarding the symbol of the Gordian knot, here's a view on what it is -

It is often used as a metaphor for an intractable problem (untying an impossibly tangled knot) solved easily by finding an approach to the problem that renders the perceived constraints of the problem moot ("cutting the Gordian knot"):"

Are we all bound, Ma, in our family in Borromean or Gordian KNOTS (a tightly bundled woven or entangled string or rope or line object) ... and did George see the MacLeods that way too? Perhaps.

And while I can imagine Lacan also engaging and supplanting, or dislocating from psychoanalytic theory, Freud's Oedipus complex for related family dynamics' questions (what an awful legacy of Freud to cast a central tenet psychoanalysis in these terms, and how psychoanalytic many patients might he have lost even with the possibly inexorable fatefulness of this thinking and from this ancient Greek drama, I wonder? ... As I think about it, the judgmentalism of Freudianism is not healthy between analysts and analysands (a word I learned from George, with very different social psychological connotations from patient), for ex. ... John Money Ph.D. also touches in passing on such judgmentalism in Freudianism - http://scottmacleod.com/JohnMoneyConceptsOfDeterminism.html ... per below "In the clinic it has the special virtue of freedom from the idioms of judgmentalism that haunt motivation theory") ... and I think George appreciated John Money's Concepts of Determinism and other thinking from our conversations. I don't know if George Alexander MD knew John Money from Pittsburgh PA too ... or whether they overlapped ... 


I can also imagine George in his symbolic, language and intellectual/theoretical thinking substituting the Gordian knot (even with its references to Alexander the Great) for Lacan's Borromean knot ... 

And whether or NOT :) knots were of interest to Lacan, regardless of their adjectives ... I don't know. 

Thoughts, Ma? We talked about so much and these "knots" - which I clarified a bit with you in my mentioning Borromean and Gordian knots - are just a sign or just a symbolic direction, I'm heading in a little further thinking-wise, and re our conversation. 

Can language or conversation, such as we shared last night, be ways of cutting the Gordian knot? ... Thanks so so much for sharing all you did, Ma, last night!

You are wonderful ! Seemed to have touched base with your talking 'unconscious' mind in a new way - and about things medical too. Seems to be a mother thing culturally in part to want their children to get vaccinated currently (even though it's not the law) - and perhaps a son thing here to seek for family members to be law-abiding, I think. 

We talked about SARS CoV2 by extension, and the recent Covid-19 pandemic genes, HIV, and Polio on the VIRUS side of life, and about Tuberculosis (TB) and Diptheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (DPT) on the BACTERIA side of life ... about Dad too as Secretary of Health in Pennsylvania in 1979 working with the Amish regarding polio vaccines to eradicate polio in the state of PA.

MD psychiatry therapist for my offspring when they become teens - when psychotherapy could work in their teens (possibly pre skepticism) - & to prepare them for life to come in smart ways as adults? Could be good to somehow meet and marry a 25-28 year old attractive (radiantly warm earth mother kind of woman?) MD ! ... Could THUS potentially marry great caring smart ethics as a consequence. :)

Glad to have received an invitation from Henry and Victoria to visit them in Randolph NH WHEN I'm back east! :) And see you soon.
