Interpreting this as a kind of hippy approach to being adventurous underway on the road (given the photo) ... and I also see this as Steve Job's thinking for high-achieving Stanford graduates a few decades after the 1970s - as Apple Computer's founder, and coming out of the 1960s and 1970s and Reed College - and as encouraging taking risks in career paths ... a few decades after the 1970s, when times have changed ...

"At Stanford’s 126th Commencement on Sunday, Mariano-Florentino CuĂ©llar Ph.D. ’00, associate justice of the Supreme Court of California and a Stanford alumnus, urged graduates to be cognizant of all those who have contributed to societal progress before them and to use their “good fortune” for the benefit of others." ...

Hi M,

Emailing to say hi (from Stanford).

Thinking about Dad here, and with love.

How are you? It's hot here these days.

It's commencement day at Stanford - so it's busy with everybody graduating ...

Hoping Dad's good thinking will continue well into the future ...

L,
Scott

Hi M,

Greetings on a hot day from Stanford. How is the weather where you are and how are you?

Glad I'm inside today in air conditioning ... Glad too to have met with my friend S here at Stanford (who may help to develop the online WUaS bookstore) ... Seeking today to build a WUaS Corp Board ...

Dad was a risk taker ... and I'm not sure what he would have said about Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address, which you'll find here (and which is worth re-watching if you have seen it already) - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/06/rainbow-springs-river-florida-stay.html - where Steve concludes by saying "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" but I think Dad would have loved this, and would agree ...

Scott
