It's both the book's focus on methodology, i.e. what you've enjoyed doing/working on in the past, with a kind of personal, playful-even, and while not hand holding, yet an engaged conversation approach, that makes the book stellar. It also provides a beginning METHODOLOGY, as I recall, for potentially even finding or creating a JOB or CAREER you really love - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Finding_/_creating_a_job_you_really_love (the only such methodology I know of).
First written in 1970, and published in 1972 by the innovative Ten Speed Press in Berkeley, California ... it seems to me to embody a kind of people-centric, reader-has-agency, freedom-for-the-people approach to job seeking, and re finance questions especially - and building on human networking thinking!

Am curious too how such a book - "What Color ... ?" - might be focused in a machine learning program - innovation-wise - for Reedie graduates - both those going on for Ph.D.s and those taking other career paths? But even as, brainstorming-wise, an approach to help Reedies with careers without turning "What Color ... " into a computer program conceptually - and perhaps in conjunction with World Univ & Sch - this book could help advance Reed through developing a methodologically sound approach to careers for Reedies (building on what exists already at Reed for this).
Given a kind of exploration of Reed-World Univ & Sch possible collaborations for advancing Reed (re FAR) here, I wonder too about how all the wiki subjects I shared with you recently could be turned into Reedie opportunities to begin growing their careers. In wondering about this last night, and re highest achieving colleges, as well as Quaker colleges, the only one on this above list that crossed my mind was the University of Washington. I wonder about Earlham College as being a great place to work some decades ago especially. And it's interesting to me that the words 'community' and 'Christian' re colleges come up so much in this list.
Why are not more highest achieving colleges on this list I wonder?

Thinking ~200 countries' main languages, and 7111 known living languages as wiki schools for open teaching and learning.
