  1. Research Development III session kicked off Day 2 with intriguing insights into how collaborations and interactions push forward research development and the process of developing the vaccine for COVID19.

The Fireside Chat with our Lifetime Achievement Awardee, Katalin Karikó, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of BioNTech and Dean Lloyd Minor, M.D., Carl and Elizabeth Naumann Professorship for the Dean, Stanford School of Medicine. This was an engaging discussion that ranged from advice for early stage scientists to the future of mRNA research to how lessons learned from COVID-19 can carry over to other aspects of drug development.

  

  1. Investing in Discovery session provided insights on investing from the venture capitalist perspective.

 

  1. Artificial Intelligence Technologies session shared the exciting work being done with new machine learning tools and in leveraging artificial intelligence to find drug targets and move forward drug development.

 

  1. Research Development IV session wrapped up SDDS 2022 with fantastic talks on ongoing research development and a view into how risk taking and preparedness can facilitate advancement.
