Am suggesting that Harbin Hot Springs, and Lake County, even in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s, were a bit like the wild wild west touched on in Stanford's Anthony Martin's Bach consortium concert title (in yesterday's post) ... culturally (a different world re 'norms' too) ... and even more so in the 1960s and '70s ... and it takes a shift in understanding to comprehend this (and am hoping we can co-create this in a realistic virtual Harbin for ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy as well) ....

Preventive psychiatry? In what ways could MD faculty in online WUaS Med Schools teach this in 200 countries' main languages - - - - -

*

Dear Christine,

Thanks for your great Stanford Medicine talk and readings this morning: "Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Grand Rounds: From Introspection to Advocacy: Writing, Medicine, and the Mind" - https://events.stanford.edu/events/826/82651/

Am curious to stay in touch if and as you might see any potential in exploring writing about emergent online tele-psychiatry, per my question (and potentially re your experiences in Scandinavian countries, comparatively).

Am also interested in staying in touch re MIT OCW-centric World University and School, and re teaching online psychiatry - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Psychiatry (see the related WUaS links on this page, below too) - in each of all ~200 countries' official / main languages.

Am seeking too to create a realistic virtual earth / realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs as STEM field sites, and as classrooms - and re my actual/virtual Harbin ethnographic project. (Have you visited Harbin when you were living in the SF Bay Area, by any chance?) There may well be fascinating writing potential in these regards re online psychiatry in brand new VR modalities - and in multiple countries and languages too.

Have grown up in summers on Cuttyhunk Island, MA, not far from Providence RI at all. Do you happen to know Brown Emeritus Anthropology Professor Pat Symonds (and her husband Alan, as well)? They also have Cuttyhunk roots.

How can we best stay in communication about this? Could we, for example, digitize into a realistic virtual earth the Butler Hospital ... and as a virtual school of psychiatry, where Brown psychiatry professors, and Stanford too, could teach?

Very nice to meet you and thank you.

Best regards, Scott

P.S.
I blog some about psychotherapy here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/psychotherapy and Lacan here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Jacques%20Lacan%20MD ... with more in my blog about online Medical Schools +

Re this realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs' project - I'm also developing a new set of digital methods I'm calling 'ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy' https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy which is briefly characterized here https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/11/pacific-yew-world-univ-and-sch-medicine.html - and I'd think that psychiatry could inform such a co-building of a realistic virtual earth in remarkable and rigorous STEM ways.

With regard to this beginning Google-centric realistic virtual earth, for example: visit the Harbin gate in Google Street View here ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook ~ where you can "walk" down the road "4 miles" to Middletown, California, and "amble" around the streets there, if inclined. And add some photos or videos if you have them - re this new social science method I'm developing (again - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy - think ethnography as interpretive social science practices, wiki (think fast adding / curating of Wikipedia) and co-building of a virtual world (like in Sansar / Second Life /Open Simulator with avatar bots, but not cartoon-esque, rather realistically)).
