#FugitivePedagogy from home? - at World Univ & Sch (re recently promoted Harvard Prof of Education, Jarvis Givens' new book)
Dear Universitians,
Greetings from a place of asylum on the east coast of the USA, in whistle blowing, calling the police in the SF Bay Area, and in fleeing across the country from the SF Bay Area to eastern woodland forests of western Pennsylvania (and from near Bakery Square in Pittsburgh PA near Google, which WUaS is seeking to be incubated by).
1 Universitians,
Greetings. Here's the
Monday, 10/17/22 open @WorldUnivAndSch @WUaSPress WUaS News and Q&A RECORDING
In my recent asylum journey across the US to western PA from the SF Bay Area, and as some of you may have been reading, and TRY TYPING IN 15206 to the USPS 'manage my move' - https://managemymove.usps.com/mgoc/home web site - to the 4 VERIFICATION codes below differentially. ... And how WUaS could contribute to the USPS's iterating US address forwarding software, in WUaS planning to code for all 7.9 billion people on the planet each a Wikidata PIN # here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University ... and for Free Universal Education, people to people, and UBI experiments to end poverty with Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency free money daily - to possibly add an email address to a physical address, for example -
Kim Viehland, how "to add a stable 'forwarded-to' email address to the USPS Manage My Move website ... like kim@viehland.org to your new WUaS 1401 North Negley Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15206 address as a new WUaS office even? An interesting question ...
Good to connect with a Shady Side Academy network, eg a classmate, Ed Wilson, a possible new CFO??? after Larry Viehland, having 3 houses, 1 in CA still, 1 in Canada, and 1 in Pittsburgh, with father and family out west in Colorado - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/10/blue-bird-of-paradise.html (See PPPS too).
Regarding my exploring moving back into Canyon 94516 on the ridge in September 2023, the Shady Side Academy football team at Homecoming shut out Valley high school -
... partly by networking with the Neighborhood School in Pittsburgh for players, and strategically and smartly (President Bart Griffith '93?). (And I attended many of the Tweet events currently at the top of my Twitter, my first SSA Homecoming ever, I think). Could Valley refer too to the Canyon valley?
Glad you're an IBMer and know the Barret siblings re Canyon 94516 information too. Glad too you're a MIT Alum re Larry Viehland and Don Tatzin as a California State Senate volunteer affiliated with the District 7 office in Orinda, CA (and while not a MIT alum that you may know of Ed Smyth MD, in the SF Bay Area, the named Chief Medical Officer of WUaS).
Thanks, Scott

In what ways can @WorldUnivAndSch explore #WUaSaccreditation with #MSCHE to matriculate large numbers of students in Sep 2023 & in communication w #CollegeCounselors #ShadySideAcademy high school for #FreeToStudents' CC4 OCW.MIT.EDU -centric #WUaS Bach. Ph.D. degrees?

Am curious why Couchsurfing.com - and for World Univ & Sch students' possibly especially - isn't working well at all these days ... is there a developing ABOLITION focus (of modern forms of slavery like prostitution, regarding the law and law enforcement and AI in each of all 200 countries and their main languages) in this Couchsurfing.com? (That is abolishing the wrongful buying and selling of people, so illegally, regarding kinds of enslavement, without rights or benefits, and in WUaS calling for abolition to protect women, kids, men, others with law, law enforcement, AI and machine learning ... and from, for example, the latent networks of violence of the illegal sex and drug industries, ... and animal and weapons' trafficking etc.) ...
Glad too the Stanford Law CodeX Thursday meetings (subscribe to receive notifications of which Thursdays) are happening again this autumn - Our first CodeX group meeting of the academic year is this Thursday (September 29), from 1:30p to 2:30p PT, via Zoom - https://law.stanford.edu/codex-the-stanford-center-for-legal-informatics/
Questions of culture came up in both playing again with fun Lego Robotics' WeDo 2.0 kit ... getting back into building robots' fun beyond with the Lego tutorials - with a new tutorial from Youtube. And Robocamp (from Hungary maybe) maybe made a kind of racist tutorial in building a Gorilla robot. And CMU seems to engage Robocamp too.
America and aspects of its culture or alternative culture and in academics too in particular have some heightened focus on non-racism, non-classism and non sexism ... In my thinking ... And since the 60s and 70s ... And their freedom seeking movements (the student movement, etc).
And the Harmonium and Shruti box too may have their origins in Vienna in central Europe near Hungary too around 1818 - someone named Haeckl I think I read - in a Harmonium tutorial book I got in India in 2014 with the Harmonium in India. ... In the middle of colonialism (a major project of critique by social scientists since at least the 1960s). ... and while India may have absorbed it and added these instruments to Indian Raga for example - per the tutorial too - Indians weren't critiquing colonialism (racism) as they made raga, instead were kind of enslaved by colonialism tragically.
How to learn the Harmonium improvisation -wise (where Raga is an improvisational music too)? And in a fun and playful way ... And at World Univ & Sch too? (I didn't search in Google for example, but I think the Peter Norvig Google AI thinking is very aware of not being racist ... What do you think?
Raises questions about teaching and learning and cultural or countercultural expressions - eg Rock and Roll out of the '60s and 70s is a great cultural expression of a kind of freedom seeking and creative transformative music.
And how to give rise to new creative expressions, and at World Univ & Sch too, and with great energy ... and not create new forms of slavery (like sex trafficking of women kids, men, others) or colonialism, and which is somehow liberating of people?
Interesting accreditation collaboration opportunity between Shady Side and World University may have emerged this morning - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/10/blue-bird-of-paradise.html - in going to a remembrance at Shady Side Academy Homecoming almost a kind of Church service (where the SSA chapel however is kind of closed and locked up curiously). Shady Side Academy also lived through the revolutionary 1960s and 70s and is very aware of I think issues of race, class and gender, and equality diversity and what education can do ... Here's an unique expression of such a vision in the 10/15/22 WUaS Monthly Business Meeting and recently in Blog otherwise ...
" Agenda item 17
How best to grow cultures-societies of free universal education & learning that could be transformative positively of Pgh and SF Bay Area & CA societies that lead to asylum-seeking, for example ... Maybe there's an opportunity in America with its abolitionist 1862 Emancipation Proclamation & free public k-12 education and 1960s' civil rights, for example ... (Stanford University in the 1960s and 1970s in Pittsburgh in the 2020s out of SSA somehow too is kind of the vision) ... Via an iterating Internet in a realistic virtual earth for everything and generating loving bliss neurophysiology too :)

How's the composting and recycling going here at 210 for you? The city isn't making it easy downstream to send the recyclables in free BLUE bags, or the compost to a repository ... may not be a high priority.

Bonjour Stephon, Frederic, Marc, Composters, Recyclers, All,
Greetings, and welcome back from NYC Frederic (Hope the 'recycled' blue winter jacket will keep your hands and head warm with the hood too:).
Went into the Carnegie Library Oakland, to get an ILL book on paper, my first back in Pgh, - "Inventing the Electronic Century" (Harvard 2001) - and saw some small G.E.? blue (recycling?) bags near the ILL pickup desk. I took some with me, thinking to begin to fill these - including possibly COMPOST (placed in a little white trash can I have in my abode) - and other recycling like cans and containers with deposits on them (PA and not?) ... and glass ... and plastics ... and leave the paper / cardboard for the big trash can with a small blue bag in it. Another little success step in sorting recyclables ... but have to think about the compost on the curb in a blue bag a little further. I had gotten an ILL email notification this morning (which reminded me to pick up something at a shoe repair, 2 days after there supposed to be repaired:) and the book came ILL 8 days after I had requested it - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/10/purple-gallinule.html - less than the 2-3 weeks I had been told.
I had requested the "Inventing the Electronic Century" book (I teach from this book in my course "Society and Information Technology" - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/InfoTechNetworkSocGlobalUniv.html ) in preparation for my next book (maybe 1 of 3 a trilogy) to be published in 2023, and you'll find here the saga difficulties in the Information Technology revolution in getting this book here too - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/10/purple-gallinule.html - since after placing the request, I had remembered Open Library, went in this great Carnegie free public library to a seat, logged in after years to Open Library and was able to find the digital book, and BOTH read it and listen to it at the same time, immediately ... in the NOW ... But interestingly I didn't read this book "Inventing the Electronic Century" from my abode at 201 East End Ave in the intervening 8 days. So now to do so with paper, digital and audio ... and CONCENTRATION or FOCUS - re item 4 in Guidelines for Practicing a Musical Instrument - http://scottmacleod.com/GuidelinesPracticingMusicalInstrument.htm (implying I suppose that out bodyminds reading somehow might be musical instruments too, comparable to trumpet or Scottish small pipes :) Now to focus in reading this and for further understanding of how the Information Technology revolution developed, and in preparation for writing my book from my lecture notes too, the first book of 3 tentatively entitled "The Information Age and the Global University: History or Origins" or "The Network Society, Information Technology and the Global University."
In a related vein, and with regard to World Univ & Sch planning major online university free libraries in all 200 countries and in not only their main languages but in all 7151 known living languages, - and having inquired with the Carnegie Library Oakland's librarian Styran about possible collaborations with WUaS - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/09/linnaea-dipelta.html - there's a free physical talk at the Carnegie Library Oakland which one has to register for on Sunday afternoon with the 10th Archivist General of the Library of Congress, and formerly at MIT. Consider checking it out.
Stephon and Frederic, wanna head out to a Barnes and Noble some Saturday or Sunday together for a housemate coffee, and to visit the mall in the Fox Chapel strip, and also maybe after a coffee together, explore the bookstore itself ... in terms of World Univ & Sch's planned online Physical-Digital WUaS Educational Services' stores with books, and robotics - partly since WUaS is an authorized reseller of 3 Lego Robotics kits, and while Barnes and Noble carries Lego Brick kits it doesn't carry Robotics kits ... and to hang out at a little coffee party :)
Marc in French speaking Switzerland, does the following gibe with what you know as a geneticist - and possibly regarding different kinds of circulation loops than the above -
What was the first approved gene therapy? On September 14, 1990, W. French Anderson and his colleagues at the NIH performed the first approved gene therapy procedure on a four-year-old girl born with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) (Anderson, 1990).
Marc, how to begin world class online free university libraries for Switzerland World Univ & Sch - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Switzerland - in French, German, Italian, and the wiki language Romansh at WUaS ... ? :)

Stephon, Frederic, All,
Could a hypothetical developing CMU Toyota Humanoid Robot 3 - help us with the recycling, keeping the place clean, and even carpentry, like fixing the broken windows, and the hot water faucet? :) Wouldn't it be great if CMU was developing 10 early Toyota Humanoid Robots, THR3s - and we at 201 East End Avenue could be a machine learning training site?
THR-3 at 201 with a wired house, and possibly no privacy, but with the creation of a realistic virtual earth for history- and especially a realistic virtual earth for Robotics? Wouldn't it be cool ? Or would it be cool? And if CMU isn't developing 10 THR3s that we could train one with artificial intelligence datasets, maybe CC-4 OCW.MIT.EDU -centric World Univ & Sch could ... and maybe get one from MIT from Toyota too, instead of CMU? What do you think? :)

Stephon, Frederic, All,
We may be getting a new neighbor
Just heard him say to Lisa Peng in a deep booming voice downstairs,
"If you want to give me work, I'll take it". Met him and maybe his mother on the street. Seem like nice people in passing. Conceivably they could be from West Virginia. Could he do work on our top floor things in exchange for rent -:kind of old school? Could be great with winter coming on since i don't think Work World Univ and Sch will be getting a T-HR3 from Toyota via MIT to code the data sets in musical or house specific ways in the next year or so.
Cheers, Scott

Andrew Carnegie's Scottish acquaintances in Pittsburgh?
Ma,
What a good memory you have! When we were talking about Andrew Carnegie's Scottish acquantances or friends in Pittsburgh at lunch at Phipps' conservatory, you mentioned Pitcairn -
Nice to see you and thanks for lunch and the museum (and the Pgh water tasted bad again like in a cafe in Shadyside 3 weeks ago ... but the coffee covered up the flavor. Am boiling my Pgh water, drinking distilled water, also boiled I think for evaporation's benefits too!)
It was good to see you yesterday. It's 39 degrees Fahrenheit, it was snowing earlier today, there's no heat where I live still, and it seems as if manager Lisa Peng and the owner of the 210 house aren't going to fix the broken windows and they said they aren't going to fix the broken hot water faucet in the kitchen. Asylum journey re Yoga and Quaker simplicity and in calling for abolition ... on a late autumn backpacking trip with winter coming on.
Just played my Scottish Small Pipes ... Toward upcoming album ... The Desperate Battle of the Birds from memory ... It's coming along ...
As I called about earlier today, am concerned about now both the Viehlands and the illegal sex industry ... And it unsettled me a lot when over at their house just before 5, and talking about "Fugitive Pedagogy," World Univ & Sch's growth, abolition, and my not going to the Edgewood Symphony on Saturday night in seeking to go English Country Dancing (thanks for suggesting this - and have emailed a musical organizer) - and out of a deep wariness of religious groups like the SF Quaker Meeting and their seeming sexual attacks on kids, and in other Quaker Meetings too, and wariness of the JCC, where the Edgewood Symphony plays, too regarding possibly prostitution, that Kim Viehland said "we've got to get the labor from somewhere" or "where are we going to get the labor from?" (Prostitutes in exchange for labor or Prostitutes as labor ... were the implications). I taught Yoga at the Berkeley Richmond JCC about 15 years ago a block away from the Berkeley Quaker Meeting ... And am concerned about both organizations and the illegal sex industry and its latent networks of violence, now here on the east coast in curious asylum for possibly the next year.
As you said, avoiding going into the Phipps' conservatory I think "I've got to get back" to Longwood, ... I'll say too
"I've got to get back" to the SF Bay Area in September 2023 if I and World Univ & Sch can get the house on the ridge in Canyon for a song ...
I'm not sure who designed the Hawaiian exhibit in Phipps' conservatory Pgh (and hope it wasn't the sick one who accosted me sexually in the UU Church of Pgh one Xmas eve a few years ago) ... but I was impressed with its design for a possible Realistic Virtual Harbin Hot Springs in Pgh simulacra with much soaking too by visitors in Bakery Square with Google for STEAM FIELD SITEs' GENERATION digitally more generally too.
Here in this city with some Scottish roots, and Andrew Carnegie's philanthropy and generosity, am curious to connect with Scots' Americans whose ethics and morals I share ... and perhaps you are one of them Ma (even especially with Dad's challenges and aggressions and their negative effects) ... maybe in the UPMC Shadyside Presbyterian hospital - which it seems I may be getting health coverage through - I'll find connections with Scottish American people Presbyterian background.

My book, #FugitivePedagogy, was published today! I’m excited because this history of Black teachers and their subversive traditions has so many lessons for our time.
1000s of aging reversal breakthroughs like this one? ... in a realistic virtual earth for genetics at WUaS too.
Meet a life partner at the Phipps' conservatory, or at English Country Dancing possibly ... if I hear back ... Methinks Shady Side Academy circles for a possible 25 yo MD life partner of some Scottish background would be possibly more likely ... And who might be able to move to the SF Bay Area with me with child and even work at Kaiser Permanente somehow ... if I can successfully join UPMC Shadyside in the morning.
This "Fugitive Pedagogy" book by Jarvis Givens' thinking COULD possibly contribute to developing CC4 ocw.mit.edu ON a WUaS F
Google education platform for Work World Univ & Sch IN REMARKABLE (rock and roll) ways that educate a lot of people of color or African Americans in this country possibly which would be GREAT.

Thanks for getting me into the Phipps' exhibits by renewing your membership for $60, and for lunch! Are museums women's cultural spaces sometimes (eg the vision of becoming a docent who can speak so eloquently and knowledgeably about beautiful art) ? And could they be so for having families and passing on genes too re women's circles?
Speculatively in this vein at Phipps, a lass with long pretty blond hair from behind passed me wearing possibly museum clothes of dark green shirt and khaki pants as I was walking through the central hall with the ponds and miniature trains.
I went farther through into the Hawaiian room and as I was going out the back door onto the balcony with great views of Pittsburgh valleys, another mature blond haired woman, who I think worked as a volunteer for the museum too - the lass's mother? - wearing a mask was coming in thru the right door and seemed to put her foot in front of the left door I was exiting through, possibly playfully, blocking my door briefly. (Could I have somehow known her).
Was this like my playful greeting with you around the column as we first met at Phipps?
The Phipps' deck is a great look-out - there outside - where I lingered awhile. I came back in to the Phipps, walked thru some side halls, and, heading to leave, there was the same mature woman with short blond 'Scottish' hair at the main entrance in the main hall greeting people and visitors just near the elevators, her back to me, so I didn't see what she looked like.
So, ... a $60, for one, banquet invitation for the St Andrew's Society of Pittsburgh (which I just became a member of at the Ligonier Highland Games) just came in - https://www.standrewspittsburgh.org/events/ - with a vegetarian option ... at a Marriott hotel near the airport (which could be kind of gross too) ... but it could also attract some Scottish Americans. $110 for 2 ... Could I somehow possibly invite the lass I saw from behind at the Phipps to this? MUCH SPECULATIVE thinking in this email, but could you by any chance, Ma, know who the mature woman at the Phipps is - in being a member, and knowing Pittsburgh society too? If so, another lunch at the Phipps and to possibly meet the POSSIBLE mother and her daughter, the lass?
What do you think? All a bit of a stretch ... But a Scottish one possibly and regarding beginning a family too.
Love, Scott

Ma,
A Scottish American MD WIFE life partner, 25 - 32 yos, with sophisticated aging reversal drugs in 20 years too - and a great fit (a 21 yo Susan or a 23 yo Anke, radiant, ... and when I was in the second half of my 20s) - a 1st child within a year or two ... Or the hypothetical lass at Phipps, daughter of the possible volunteer mother there, via some kind of or kin introduction?
In this transition time of my moving back into Pittsburgh for a year, seeking to effect
Not seeking to be a Dodo bird and go "extinct", per George Alexander MD, & recognize I have to be happy too to meet a good connection per George too some years ago ...
Might be moving back west to the SF Bay Area - with her potentially with more kin around in Pgh perhaps than in the SF Bay Area as opportunity
Your circles Ma are deep here in Pgh and Intergenerational, and things seem more normative male-female wise here in Pgh than SF Bay too.
If meeting a life partner is something I'll do on my own as an individual, what strategy ? What do I have to change? How could I network with Shady Side Academy and Bart Griffith and Shawn Flaherty for example strategically in this?
I think I'm also asking newly identify and Scotland or England centric questions
