Support World University and School in its work for worldwide learning! It's a global, digital, open, free-to-students, multilingual university & school, where anyone can teach or take a class or course, - like Wikipedia with MIT Open Course Ware. World University and School is an education and service organization funded by you, which will change thousands of lives each year.

World University and School is presently developing a global, degree-granting, virtual university and school, with great universities including MIT, Ivy League Schools, Stanford, U.C. Berkeley, Oxford, Sorbonne, Juilliard Music School and Cambridge. It's for everyone, especially for students in the developing world and countries participating in "One Laptop per Child."

World University is already open for learning. You can teach a course or take a class now. You can learn the equivalent of a degree through MIT right now, selecting from its 2,000 courses and video lectures. Or you can teach or potentially take a fun or fascinating class about Mozart, massage, painting, calculus, or sculpture, - whatever your area of interest or specialization. This can be done in any language, in any country, potentially with many free degrees, or at any level of education.

World University is presently planning four degrees - Bachelor, Law, M.D., and Ph.D. - with matriculating classes in 2014 in English. And World University & School hopes to make teaching and learning materials available in every language and in many countries. World University and School is designing this educational resource to work on "One Laptop Per Child" computers in Rwanda, Ethiopia, Colombia, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, USA (Birmingham, Alabama), Uruguay, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Cambodia, & Papua New Guinea. These resources will also work on video-capable, programmable, mobile phone-like devices ("broadband video on a handheld"). And people in developing world countries can add their own teaching and learning resources to this World University wiki (editable web pages). MIT Open Course Ware will be our model for degree-granting, academic, course work.

With the interactive virtual world of Second Life, it's now possible to engage with almost every aspect of learning which occurs in the classroom. These virtual world technologies will develop significantly in the next few years. On its own, World University and School has the potential to generate a remarkable archive of teaching and learning resources over time.
