(which even as a possible hippy tax dodge, too, ordains its own ministers, or did, prior to the fire of Sep 2015 - and since this seemed to be a Harbin dysfunctional practice prior to the valley fire, which razed Harbin (except of the pools) ... )
(Did Harbin institutionalized the 'party' right of the 1960s, and sociologically - the hippie party that is :)? Cool, and right on!

religious experience Yogic-ally too 
and counter-culturally, since A&V are kind of old English and Dutch hippies ... and even because they were visionary, lead to a kind of feeling well, and were creatively unique, since all other Yoga seemed primarily pose oriented (and possibly also cult oriented too), for their transformative experiences

Quaker Silent Meeting, as de facto meditation, an authentic
religious experience, Friends' wise too? 
And were Friends' and Quaker-witness peace marches, and vigils, of the 1960s, 70s,'80s to the present, as gatherings, complementing
this, - meditation with its de facto relaxation response, creating an inner releasing action, - but socially, and which feels good, as un-programmed Friends' Meetings'

Mental Health ~ Psychiatric Diseases


Hi Scott,

Mental health diseases are just like all other diseases. I don’t see them as negative — just a part of the human existence. They occur within all populations everywhere the world, every professional group, everyone in general.  They are largely treatable, thank goodness, just as most other diseases are, for the most part. Nice that Ed shared some of his own experience with you; sounds like he’s a good example of what physicians are trained to do: dx and treat.  And, as with everything between friends, comes the matter of trust - so congrats on earning that trust from him.

Mental health diseases are socially constructed by the MD medical and insurance, professions, just as biological diseases are socially constructed, but constructed scientifically by different kinds of scientists (than MD psychiatrists) re biology, chemistry, physics inquiry  ... and more research is needed, and newly in the Information Technology age, 

Glad too that E shared some of his experiences with mood medicines (for seizures otherwise) with me.

Thanks again for your email on Tuesday. Re E and his severe mental illness (self-reported to me), and 'mental health diseases,' am a bit more worried about nelson graburn's possible psychosis (where I think psychoses are a psychiatric biological fact as disease, different from perhaps Ed's condition for example) - as a psychiatric disease - re graburn's lashing out at me, uncontrollably in recent TSWG sessions last year (and did he seek to try to end my life a number of times, - first perhaps by 'sending me' to the University of California, Santa Barbara, and re that psychiatrically ill ucsb instructor francesca bray ...  ) ... where I think Ed as MD is in a position to manage graburn's illness or disease, - and even while Ed is taking mood medication. Is some of graburn's illness, and violence too (perhaps internationally), related to the international illegal sex industry (and even regarding all 10 campuses of the University of California, tragically ... ) ... regarding ethical 'tumblr-ing' too, affecting the brain into psychosis? 

Thanks too when we talked on the phone last time for mentioning in response to me the words 'illegal sex trade,' when I said illegal sex industry. Distinguishing between such a trade and an industry in these heinous harming practices ... may be place specific (CA, or PA, or MA), or even institution specific (state of CA? 10 university of californias, california state universities, california community colleges???? ... but not too much the state of Pennsylvania?) ... Much opportunity for legal developments regarding the abolition of the international illegal sex industry ahead (and ending too slavery in other countries even), perhaps also via UBI experiments!

Remember when we used to make puns and have fun with the word 'tic' on Cuttyhunk, regarding 'antic,' 'spastic' etc  ... There are lots of ways one can make puns about 'tic' - and Dad was a punster (funny too) and a wordsmith :) ... I think this 'tic' word, in retrospect, may have been an interesting first example of what a mental illness might manifest as, and be recognizable by physically - and as a word in the MacLeod family on Cuttyhunk - and possibly as my first introduction, in a sense, to the idea of mental disease (per your email about Ed's mental disease, Ma ... and potentially others, like graburns' - and could he possibly have called for Dad's subdural hematoma brain injury in Belize, and even the 2nd 'spontaneous' one in Pittsburgh after that ... 'out, damned spot! out, I say' from MacBeth re graburn? ... ), as I recall, and even with Dad as a smart, well-trained, physician MD, and teacher to of Medical Grand Rounds in Pittsburgh, as a quick and skillful diagnostician. And even though, also, the MacLeod family shared an Xmas meal with the Alexander family, and re George L Alexander MD and his family for 22 or 23 years, as a brilliant Yale & McGill-trained psychoanalytic psychiatrist (was he a genius? It's difficult to say what a genius is!), who studied and knew about mental illness, and could talk about it, and understand it in his patients, with great depth of understanding - to help such sufferers of such diseases. Glad psychiatry has been in existence since the mid-1800s -

Misdiagnoses from medical MDs could be misused - tragically too - to enslave people, not help them (and how to create a culture of medicine which helps people) ... And I'm living, sadly, in a 'safe house,' from Canyon perps, offs. purveyors, I hypothesize, from the illegal sex industry and its latent cultures of harming and violence  ...

Ma, T seems well, with growing family, in his move to Columbus, Georgia (of all places), originally from the SF Bay Area ... thanks to his wife A perhaps, who is much in the background (with their baby Em) ... and partly since her parents and sisters are in the area (seems like it's a Celtic 'Irish,' in part, 'thanksgiving' identity-wise for all of them), and with the Ws now living in a big house on 2 acres, having moved from a one bedroom studio in SF this spring.

Interesting, good realized family, with much centered well-being, and social, but as a nuclear family too, with other extended nuclear families as relatives in the area. ... And T is an interested Scottish Small Pipes' learner ...
