I'm writing to follow up on a text message today from my friend Ed Smyth MD. Greetings! How are you? I hope this email finds you well. I'm particularly interested in learning some of your thoughts to the questions below regarding World Univ & Sch, but am also exploring growing networks, and regarding Scotland, and academically. How might we best do this further, beyond on Twitter for example. 

So, my first question is: are we related, since I think I have ancestors from the Isle of Raasay, and you appear to be from North Tolsta - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Tolsta. In developing CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School, I've been planning for Scotland World University and School too - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Scotland - for free-to-students' online Bachelor, PhD, Law, MD, and IB High School or similar degrees. Having said that, I'm curious too how to begin to use the web further to explore questions of relatedness, and, for example, with WikiTree, as a start - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/MacLeod-2524. Are you on WikiTree?

(I've lived two full years in Scotland, first in 1977-78 studying at Fettes College in the 1st year 6th form, - and my former Kimmerghame housemaster George Preston is above in this email., The second year I studied at the School of Celtic and Scottish Studies at the University of Edinburgh, from which I know Lecturer at the time Abigail Burnyeat, also above, and wrote a big MSc paper on St Kilda / Hirta as emerging nascent online virtual place, which is here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/10/ocean-quahog-arctica-islandica.html - with much much more, and in the 'Scotland' label of my daily blog too :)

How might we communicate further about all of this? Brainstorming-wise, I'm curious how PM Stuart Liddell (above, and my bagpiping teacher on the Scottish small pipes) could even become a first faculty member at World Univ & Sch. I'm also curious how Stuart, brainstorming-wise, could create, for example, a machine learning approach (with WUaS & Google IT support) to identifying all bagpipe tunes, both Piobaireachd (Ceol Mor), and Light Music (Ceol Beag), potentially via the Google ecosystem and platform, - and such that he could even publish a book about the process and the project as a consequence, and as a faculty member. 

Catriona, might you, at the University of Chicago, have interest in communicating further about this very creative and helpful-to-Scots' project? (Other Scottish friends here above?:)

And did you, Catriona, come into conversation with Catriona McLeod in Australia, regarding "Is Catriona MacLeod at the University of Chicago the same as Catriona McLeod?"

Thanks, Ed! Am making some associations here, in thinking about Catriona MacLeod at the Univ of Chicago. Perhaps like Scottish Country Dancing teacher, and Scot, Linda Henderson, in Berkeley, I wonder what the Catriona MacLeod at the Univ of Chicago, who wrote,  "Invisible Sculpture, Latent Violence, and Monumental Parody in Mädchen in Uniform,' which won a recent prize, might suggest about their Linda and Catriona's backgrounds, and re Scots' military history ... On with best STEM CC-4 OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch  ... and eventually for Scotland WUaS ... Catriona MacLeod at University of Chicago, however, could be an interesting contact for World Univ & Sch ... and developing Scotland WUaS. (Might my seeking to connect with a partner, attractive, MD even, late 20s, early 30s, be best explored presently at the UU Church of Kensington???) May re-read some favorite books however 🙂 What are you up to this week, Ed, and reading-wise?
