Lego Robotics' Spike Prime to learn Python programming language?

'CSFirst withGoogle at World Univ and Sch' course to learn Scratch programming ...

Dear Alexandra, Leanna, Brian, Larry, Soren, Matt,
(Alexandra Vlachakis <alexandra.vlachakis@lego.com>, Leanna Prater <leanna.prater@lego.com>,  Larry Viehland <viehland@chatham.edu>, Matt Clark <matt.clark@lego.com>)

Greetings! I've reached out to Leanna at Lego and Soren at Stanford (from Denmark, and a Lawyer too), in recent months (but haven't heard back), about WUaS being an authorized Lego Robotics' Kits' reseller in the USA and online, and have also received some bounce backs of emails (Matt Clark?) from people who no longer may be with Lego. Alexandra ( Alexandra.Vlachakis@lego.com ), thanks for being so helpful before, and may I please reach out to you again (or Leanna, if Alexandra no longer works for Lego) about how WUaS would become a reseller of the 3 Lego Robotics' Kits, both in physical stores, and online, in the USA (as WUaS is authorized to do presently, as I understand this)? And how too for WUaS to become a Lego Robotics' kits' reseller potentially in Africa, and beginning with Cameroon, and then the Gulf of Guinea countries? Presently WUaS student Mwende Evande in Cameroon is learning (and piloting for WUaS) the Scratch programming language (which works with Lego Robotics) through the new CC-4 licensed "CSFirst withGoogle at World Univ & Sch" course, and WUaS is interested in facilitating his further learning of WUaS Home Robotics and the Python language with the Lego Spike Prime Robotics' kit, beginning potentially in May 2022. How might we explore this further please? Could WUaS become an authorized reseller for example in Cameroon, Africa, and with both online, and even with physical, WUaS Educational Services' Stores - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html - including by carrying Lego Robotics' kits online and on-the-ground in Africa (and also potentially in the USA+)? (And could WUaS also please become an intermediary in making Lego Robotics' kits available both to chain bookstores, such as Barnes and Noble in the US, and to independent booksellers too - perhaps in each of every county of California, and in the USA in all 50 US states ... for WUaS "WUaS Home Robotics'' students, as well as Robotics' learners who are curious, and who might even matriculate at WUaS for free-to-students' CC-4 MIT OCW-centric WUaS University and High School degrees at a later date?)

I'm glad to write that the "CSFirst withGoogle at World Univ & Sch" has begun to list making 'KITS' available, - 'paper kits' for individual lessons initially - but I think this could be extended to Lego Robotics' kits. And I'm hoping the departments of Education in Cameroon, and in all the other 14 or so Gulf of Guinea countries might be able to cover reimbursement costs for students learning WUaS Home Robotics and Programming languages with Lego Robotics' kits and through WUaS via even a WUaS Google platform. (Does your experience with the Chicago public schools and Lego Robotics complement this thinking in many ways, Alexandra? Leanna, - as Lego Education Adoption Lead- US)?

In reaching out to our new WUaS contact at Google Education - its 'Sr. Program Manager - Computer Science Education at Google' (below) - I have asked him if WUaS could begin to make Lego Robotics' kits - with your go-ahead, Alexandra or Leanna - available in Cameroon, and via the Google platform. How please might WUaS make Lego Spike Prime Robotics' kits for learning the Python programming language available to Mwende Evande, and many other Cameroonian students, beginning in April, and potentially via a new Lego Robotics' course emerging from "CSFirst WithGoogle at WUaS'' even, and for learning the Python language too?

Thanks very much, and am hoping your email doesn't bounce back, Alexandra! If your email is not working, Alexandra, could you please, Leanna, forward this email to the appropriate people at Lego?

Thank you.

Sincerely, Scott

Hi Brendan,

Thanks so much for your reply again - and the further information. Three 'asks,' please, and in seeking to keep these simple:

A course in May for learning Python and via Lego Robotics' Spike Prime kits, in Cameroon, and in the USA (all 50 states), and potentially in all ~200 countries, and for a hypothetical Mwende Evande in Cameroon, and many other Cameroonian, as well as Gulf of Guinea countries' students?

Additionally, adapt ~3 introductory courses from CC-4 OCW.MIT.EDU to CS First withGoogle at World Univ & Sch, for engagement, also for a hypothetical Mwende Evande, and another 3 beginning in term 3 in September (re 4 month terms at WUaS - September-December, based on 15-16 week long MIT OCW courses)? And similarly, adapt ~3 introductory courses from CC-4 OCW.MIT.EDU to CS First withGoogle at the PhD level for September?

Begin to list the 2-3 Lego Robotics' Kits on "CSFirst withGoogle at World University and School" courses, available potentially in Cameroon Africa (if their departments of Education can reimburse for this). For your information, the WUaS Educational Services' Store is an authorized reseller of 3 Lego Robotics' kits in the USA, and online. Was glad to have seen 'kits' listed (regarding not printing paper for lessons at CSFirst withGoogle at WUaS recently). Thanks so so much!

(Will inquire with the CSFirst help links you shared about an automatically generated Certificate of Completion of CSFirst withGoogle at World Univ & Sch soon - for Mwende Evande, so I don't have to write this by hand on the computer, and the 'authority' of the teacher is removed from the student-teacher interaction, thanks to CSFirst withGoogle).

Thanks too for the suggestion about reaching out to Gmail, as I read you, and regarding potentially WUaS setting up language translation teams for developing courses - say 'CS First with Google at WUaS' in all 22 official languages in India - and for translation of many CC-4 licensed resources+ for WUaS courses and toward free-to-students' online CC-4 ocw.mit.edu-centric WUaS degrees, including this CSFirst withGoogle course, Scratch itself, and CC-4 MIT OCW (in its 4 languages), and CC-3 Yale OpenYaleCourses +. Suggestions please on whom to reach out to at Gmail in some of these regards?

Thanks, Scott

Dear Leanna, Brian, Larry, Soren,

Leanna, please read my previous email just now as addressed to you, and since you still work at Lego. I received bouncebacks from both Alexandra, and Matt. Thank you. Thoughts, questions, ideas, suggestions (and per the previous WUaS emails I've sent you and Soren in recent months)?

Thanks, Scott

The medication trimetazidine is a metabolic agent that helps prevent angina attacks and treats the symptoms of vertigo, according to the European Union’s medicines agency. It can increase blood flow efficiency and improve endurance — both crucial to any high-end athletic performance.

It is on the prohibited list managed by the World Anti-Doping Agency in the category of “hormone and metabolic modulators.” "

Reimagining Environmental Futures

Dear Jisha Menon, Dipesh Chkrabarty, Ursula Heise, Rob Nixon,

Thanks so much for your conversation! May I carry this conversation online further, and via email and social media? -

1/ Thanks @profmenon, @UHeise, #RobNixon, #DipeshChakrabarty, fantastic, What role do the ~200 nation states play in your readings of #ReimaginingEnvironmentalFutures & re #RealisticVirtualEarthForEnvironment (& everything) emerges (think #GoogleStreetView w #TimeSlider, Earth)!

2/ Thanks @profmenon @UHeise #RobNixon #DipeshChakrabarty, As @WorldUnivAndSch grows major online CC-4 MIT.OCW.EDU-centric wiki Universities in ~200 countries  in 1 #RealisticVirtualEarth https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States & in 7139 langs, How best can we all #ReimagineEnvironmentalFutures?

Am also wondering, Professor Chakrabarty, and All, if we do, in the genetic engineering revolution, learn how to live beyond 122 years of age (which is the upper documented human limit: Jeanne Calment), and even for a very long time (centuries? - Harvard and MIT Professor of Genetics' George Church mentions the word 'immortality' in the 2nd video below), what role this may play in all of your thinking about reimagining futures. Thank you so much.

Best regards,
Scott

Global Dialogues Series: Crises, Connections, Concepts. Reimagining Environmental Futures.
On Friday, February 11, 2022, we invite you to join us at the second event in our global dialogues series, which will focus on Reimagining Environmental Futures.
Climate change poses the most critical question ever to confront culture. What does it mean to imagine futures in conjunction with layers of the deep past and an already irreversible present? How and under what conditions can we still conceptualize global connections for a collective future in a time of prolonged ecological crisis? Furthermore, as climate injury and environmental racism disproportionately affect marginalized communities, we must continue to mediate the continual interplay between global collectivity and local positionality in order to imagine a just future for all. When we consider the responsibilities, accountabilities, and affordances of living in precarious environmental conditions, how can we embrace a planetary envisioning of community and futurity?
