Star: Salman Khan (founder of Khan Academy), Stanford Professor Sebastian Thrun, & Peter Norvig, Dir. of Google Research, Collaboration, Overachievers

"Salman Khan (founder of Khan Academy), Stanford Professor Sebastian Thrun, and Peter Norvig, Director of Google Research, participated in a live Google+ Hangout on Air on Friday, December 9th at 1pm PST, on the topic of "Reinventing Education". 10 people at a time will be able to join the hangout, and others can watch but not join. Everyone can vote on questions at http://www.youtube.com/eduatgoogle. See you there!"

Thanks to Sal, Sebastian and Peter for this Google + Hangout opportunity! I hope World University & School - like Wikipedia with MIT Open Course (planned for all 3,000-8,000 languages and 200 countries, and with free degrees planned in 50-100 countries) - can become part of this conversation ... http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University ... and looking forward to participating in it, and you're invited, as well.

The Google + Hangout group video worked well, for 10 people plus ... :)

will look to add this Google "Education at Google" link to WUaS ...

In order to find a quality of 'overachieving' student body, first matriculating in 2014, for free, open degrees (Bachs., Ph.D., Law and M.D.), which might otherwise go to Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, MIT or Cambridge, for example, and thus to bring WUaS further into conversation with these great universities in particular - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Courses#University_course_listings, - WUaS may have to generate such students itself, beginning in autumn 2012 by beginning to offer these MIT OCW High School courses - http://ocw.mit.edu/high-school/ - interactively online for free, in Google Circles and Hangouts, for example. (See also: http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2011/11/transparent-seahorse-free-online-high.html). Accreditation is a three stage process, and I hope Quaker kids, especially, and all whom matriculate, will be beneficiaries of these opportunities. WUaS will continue to grow as an open, wiki-meta-directory, planned for all languages and countries.

As WUaS begins to develop free, open, interactive, online MIT OCW High School courses for autumn 2012 (http://ocw.mit.edu/high-school/introductory-mit-courses/), to grow a MIT OCW-oriented high school body of problem solvers, engineers, programmers and scientists, among others, - interested in, and in anticipation of, its first, matriculating Bachelor's degree class in 2014, in English, and for U.S. degrees - I wonder how this free, online high school course development process (http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Courses#Free_High_School_Diplomas) will inform WUaS University High School development in other countries and languages, especially vis-a-vis collaboration? Swedish MIT OCW Gymnasium for high school students there, in anticipation of a Swedish WUaS? In Japan for Japanese High Schoolers? In India, yes ...

Which students will matriculate at WUaS in 2014 for online free interactive Bachelors' degrees +, accrediting on MIT OCW, Yale OYC, Stanford i-Programmer, etc.? All are welcome to apply ... will probably be Quaker/Friends' kids, children of Reed College students from the '80s ... and many others, to begin ... http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Master_Plan ... since accreditation is a 3 stage process and WUaS will graduate its 1st Bach. class around 2018, before the state of California finishes the WUaS accreditation process.

Free, online, interactive MIT Introductory Courses beginning in autumn 2012? - http://ocw.mit.edu/high-school/introductory-mit-courses/ - which is MIT High School ... Biology, Chemistry, Computers and Electronics, Engineering, etc., ... World University and School is planning to offer some of these ... http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Courses#High_School_Course_Material_.28Free.29 ... to begin to generate a MIT-course-focused undergraduate student body for matriculation beginning in 2014. Spread the word, and let us know what you or your kids would like ...

What will a World University & School digital classroom look like in autumn 2012 for free, open MIT OCW High School, {besides what you create in your own way with digital technologies when you want to teach something} via this WUaS wiki? Probably something like 28 video chat windows in a Google TV, and OpenSim/SL avatar islands with group voice and group text chat ... Collaborating with open, free Khan Academy (http://www.khanacademy.org/) in the WUaS digital classroom, and not in a physical classroom - http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/05/technology/khan-academy-blends-its-youtube-approach-with-classrooms.html - will also lead to excellence in teaching & learning. How will these windows into learners brains open flourishing music making possibilities, in the Music School, for example, - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University_Music_School ? :)
