Elf owl: "let someone else add the translation tags" to qLabel and Wikidata, Wikipedia's database ... WUaS can help with this, qLabel, Hack Night SF

Dear sporadic Universitians,

I attended a Wikidata monthly office hours in Internet Relay Chat (IRC chat) this morning, and Lydia and Denny, both core Wikidata folks, were facilitating it. WUaS would like to donate and use Wikidata, and inter-lingually; Wikidata is the far-reaching developing sophisticated database written for Wikipedia's 288 languages.

I'm happy to say Denny was open to WUaS helping with translation tags -

" i'll let someone else add the translation tags, they seriously confuse me every time" -

and probably as WUaS begins to hire ... and for more than Wikipedia's 288 languages I would hope ... :) See Denny and my conversation in the transcript below about this. Denny also wrote qLabel which is interlingual software, partly for Wikidata, and which WUaS will also use. And Denny knows both Wikidata and Google very well.

Lots gets decided process-wise for Wikidata in meetings like these office hours, and in terms of working with other "companies" if you read the whole transcript, such as between Google (where Denny is now employed) and Wikidata. I added some of the main links from these office hours to:  http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Wiki.

Hi Jason, Jean, and All,

I hope this finds you well, and looking forward to Hack Night tomorrow evening.

I'm hoping to develop WUaS with a team per my presentation last Wednesday - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/mediawiki-1.24.1/index.php?title=Main_Page - further in "qLabel" for interlingual reasons (which, Denny Vrandecic, one of Wikidata's 3 core developers, now at Google in Mountain View, wrote - see ... https://github.com/googleknowledge/qlabel ... and ... http://googleknowledge.github.io/qlabel/ ... and which I've touched on in my blog, including today ... http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2015/03/elf-owl-let-someone-else-add.html), anticipating all 9000+ languages, their codes, and RDFs (for AI and machine learning eventually), as well as develop the WUaS Templates in WUaS MediaWiki from the WUaS Wikia wiki, probably in Cascading Style Sheets.

See you soon, and thank you!

Best,
Scott

Hi Jason, Jean and All,

I would also be interested in exploring "porting" over WUaS's 700 pages from WUaS in Wikia - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University - to WUaS in MediaWiki, but anticipating moving this all into Wikidata and inter-lingually eventually, and with RDFs / for AI.

I'd also like to add the image of WUaS I sent last week to all of us to WUaS in MediaWiki's upper left - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/mediawiki-1.24.1/index.php?title=Main_Page - corner this evening, if possible please.

Thank you!

Friendly cheers,
Scott
